I think todays' skiing bundle was exactly the fresh content we needed!

I mean, how many skiing props and outfits do we have in the Daz Store? Very, very few! Especially thank you to adeilsonjc for the ski's, ski-boots and ski-poles. I never noticed the store was lacking these until you released them. I really hope you intend to release some for G8M as well. Just as I hope for some more creators to come up with their own variations for skiing outfits and sceneries, allowing us to fill up a ski slope with a believable mix of people.

I do vaguely recall that there's already a snowboard in store, but correct me if I'm wrong. But a pair of langlauf skis would still be a welcome addition.

For the rest: discuss, and happy rendering!

I'm bewildered at the marketing strategy of releasing a ton of snow sking content at the very begining of the summer (in North America and Europe).  After 7 months of freezing weather, the last thing I want to buy is winter content.  The temperature was 92' here yesterday.  The skiing content itself looks great.  It would probably sell more if it was released in late autumn.

I did notice the ski mountain was very sparcely covered. I'd be very reluctant to hit the slopes with a pitiful base like that. Perhaps it's due to the warm weather.

I totally agree, I think it's an absolutely wonderful bundle. At first I put the jacket from fefecoolyellow in my cart right away as I get virtually everything they release as the quality is always stellar. Then I looked at the other outfit and I know I have a project coming up that I need winter clothes for the people in the background and I thought wow, the quality of this one is superb as well, might as well get this too. Then I looked at the helicopter and realized I don't have one, and the ski resort thing, at some point I know I can use it in some form or other. So I took the jacket out and just put the whole bundle in my cart as I figured it's June 1st, I can also use my PC+ coupon as well  (or is it D+ now?) Great stuff all around!

Your perspective is spot-on here. Not really ski season, is it?

Lol, when they release seasonal content "in season" then people complain that it takes time to do renders and they'd really prefer to get this earlier so they can plan out their work ahead of time. It's not like the content is going to go bad sitting in your pantry until you want to use it.

Same (cold) feeling here in central Europe...

Still ski season in the southern hemisphere! And even some northern hemisphere areas have skiing until July (admittedly on dwindling snow).

As a long time skier this caught my eye right away. I'm not a fan of the bundle as I have enough helicopters already and I don't care for the puffer coat design but the bundle is not much more than the individual pieces so I might get it.

I already have the French Ski Resort by Mely3D but Mountain Ridge Ski Resort has a more modern style, is positioned higher up the mountain, and has steeper slopes It also has chairs instead of gondola cars. That makes the two products complimentary rather than competitive.

I do have some concerns with the resort design. Seems a bit short on lift towers (the main promo shows two and they start high up the mountain, a third seems to be at the far left in the night scene). Hopefully they are easy to replicate and string cables. I also see two buildings on top of the mountain, one on a higher elevation. Looks to me skiers would have quite the hike in ski boots to get up to it! (Hate to say it but that is not totally unrealistic. I have had to walk uphill at some slopes more than I care to do. Heavenly at Lake Tahoe is one of them and Mt. Baker has one chair that requires a 100 foot uphill climb to get to it.)

All in all I'm glad to see this. Male clothing would be nice (it looks like the ski accessories could be used for males). In the meantime Now-Crowd Billboards - Skiing and Snowboarding (Winter Fun Vol II) can partially fill the need for male skiers. There's also Winter Clothing for Genesis 8 Male(s) which can be used. I'd like to see a ski helmet as they're pretty much universal these days.

Could have some nuance to the timing. There are notions of too early, on time, and too late, I think. Whatever. Not really important. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

while as an Australian we only have a small area of mountains for skiing, I am certain the New Zealanders are keenly entering their winter sports season cheeky

This was the finish lne for the downhill race portion this past Sunday of the annual Ski to Sea race in Bellingham Washington which starts at Mt. Baker. Still plenty of snow. The area is closed for the season so the racers have to hike up to be able to ski down.

My daughter had the good fortune to ski in NZ when she studied in Christchurch for a semester.

I can actually sort of see the "logic" in the timing.  As consumers and hobbyists, we'd like to see skiing related stuff during skiing season, Christmas related stuff at Christmas, Halloween related stuff at Halloween, etc.  But professional artists would probably like to see that stuff several months early so they can produce art well before any time sensitive deadlines.  Either way, it's actually a nice bundle with a theme that sort of makes sense.

Myself as well but remember that the ballet bundles eventually came in matching his & her bundles. They even matched building interiors & exteriors.

I agree.  It's odd to see a female-dominated sport like skiing continuing to keep men out.   Come on ladies, let the men participate.   Sure you'll still out ski them on the down-hill and slalom, but but the bunny slopes are practically unused.   cheeky

Hmm, maybe a snowboarding bundle is coming (fingers crossed)?

    That would be nice, also:

    1) Cross Country Skis

    2) Snow Shoes

    3) Crampons and all that mountain climbing gear (had to get up there someway before the days of skilifts and gondolas)

    4) Snowmobiles

  • I guess the guys are all getting pissed up in the chalet in last season's casual clothing redux, and rightly so.

Many of us in the northern hemisphere tend to forget our down under folks, who have winter starting when we have summer. However, I don't ski, never have had the slightest inclination to make my footboards extra slippery and then slide down a snowy slope virtually with no brakes...I get it, but,  just I kept remembering Sonny Bono. But, hey, if I were making a snow scene, I'd want to be able to get the props I needed for my project. I mean, I don't go into space, but  I might need space props. This snow promo was ok. Even tho my snow projects are more about polar exploration than sport, I thought it was a good set to start with for some kind of story. My sister used to go to Mammoth with her family. Always the bunny slope for her, she couldn't stay upright 2 minutes. But she loved it!

Here's the female ski clothing and accessories fitted to Genesis 8 male and positioned on the Mountain Ridge ski slope. The right pole isn't sitting in his hand (which canbe fixed) and the left pole has some waviness to it. Ski, boots, goggles, and clothing seem to work fairly well.

Surely the poles could just be parented? If necessary load two sets and hide one pole of each.

I wish this set had cameras, trying to move my camera around to find the ski lodge has me almost not using this

Unfortunately it has no camera. But it is easy to find the lodge. With your camera selected, Parameters pane, go to the property Point At, select lodge in the drop-down list,  you'll see the lodge.

Select the lodge in Scene pane, Ctrl + F, then tweak you camera view as you wish.
