pixel shader activate, and more

1:

i noticed, when "pixel shader" is activated in preference,
the render screen is more close with render final result! (Except lights effect and shadow)

wy the same effect are not in actors screen ?

Pixel shader activated show more real value of the skin character in the render screen,
That feature is more "precious" for user when they want to create their character when he choice the skin!

2:
also, before first render
until last week (since update to 4.8) i always use DEFAULT render setting and default F2)
i try some change but always return to default, i was unsatisfied with render result and try to find the "why"

Last week I do some test with GAMMA and GAIN (in render screen)
I suggest to all users before render to do some test around it (with GAMMA and GAIN)
You will see the real skin value in the screen before render

NOTE:
Depend of your screen and your video card the value is not same before and after render.
A good setting is when your render screen show almost same as your final render (without lights effect result)

i am open to suggestion to find a way to see my render screen almost more close to final render result!

Picture:
i do PRINT SCREEN of the render screen to show the difference when
PIXEL SHADER left screen is OFF and right screen is ON

Quoted from the announcment linked to

bars, emoticons, chickens and cats that are extraneous to the image aren’t enough (and frequently look silly),

Yes if you read the announcement it does state that the figure should be clothed, bars etc added in post work are not allowed.

Simple...not all video cards/drivers handle pixel shading 'on' very well.

And as far as the viewport/preview. No, you are not going to get a close match. The viewport uses OpenGL (and associated shaders). It is rather limited (mostly bound by the shaders used...which are rather basic ones). 3Delight and Iray are both 'production level' renderers and have many more features and much more realistic shaders...for starters.

thx MJC, i agree about the not all card have same result,

what i want is a real wysywing "in creation screen" more close to real value of skin!

i think is the main problem of many user who want to see more "real skin" than those brown dark, red or shining skin when we select a skin for a new character

but logicaly, the video card must support what he can render! as preview, not?

No. 3Delight is a CPU only renderer and its capabilities are not limited to what the video card (or more precisely, the OpenGL shaders used) is capable of.

Iray while being GPU capable, is also not limited to what the OpenGL shaders are capable of.

Both 3DL and Iray use entirely different shading languages than the viewport/preview.

You can use the Aux Viewport (Window>Panes(Tabs)>Aux Viewport) and turn on the IPR to get a live preview of the way the items will render (a few things are switched off for speed, but it should be good enough for most purposes).
