Hi,
I have a few questions about a work that I want to get commissioned.
I have a custom armor-type clothing in blender that I want to convert into a Genesis 8 female clothing. Almost every parts are separated and the texturing is already done.
I do not have the skills to convert it myself, so I tried to make a project on cgtrader. A designer told me that my best bet was on the Daz forums, so here I am. I do not know if it's the best place to ask for that kind of thing. I also do not know the regular prices for that kind of work and I am aware that this is often determined by the amount of work required to complete the project.
If someone is interested or can give some advices/informations, thanks alot !
(Sorry for my broken English, not main language)

SickleYield has done a tutorial on Youtube:
Here are many people who really know a lot and would help you , if you would describe what went wrong when you tried to convert the prop into an clothing asset inside DAZ Studio. Sometimes the solution is very easy, so why not give it a try?
Understood, good luck with the commission! You still can ask people here later on.
Could you post a picture of the model? That would give an idea of how challenging a task it would be.
Here
courtesy post for when the forum glitches and the above attachment vanishes.
n.b. That would be at least 3 clothing pieces: hand gloves, the armlets and then the rest of the outfit.
Is it mostly quads or tris?
For the main armour - are those all separate pieces? There is a way in Hexagon to unify them into one without losing the uvmap IF Hexagon can handle the mesh.
Gorgeous model but that is going to be a super complicated rig - mainly because you want rigid pieces to slide over each other rather than being bendy - and the only way to do that is to weightmap it as good as possible and then go the rest of the way with JCMs. Looking at that the hardest bit is going to be the part hanging down on the side of the hips, if you can change the design I would recommend to shorten it up to just above where the thighs bend. Then you can rig that part as a belt.
I would not necessarily combine it all into one piece - you can use the different pieces to your advantage. Rig the bodysuit underneath first, then you can use it to autofit the pieces that goes on top.
I would have a bodysuit (bottom layer), chest/torso piece and belt. Then I would have the pieces where the rigging can be copied from left to right - which means you only have to rig/morph one side. Gloves, boots, armbands. Keep in mind that they need to be completely symmetrical for that to work.
Thank you !
My bad there is no bodysuit, it was a just place holder. Hmmm, I'm sorry, I'm not sure what you mean when you say "rigid pieces to slide over each other rather than being bendy". Well for the boots and calf since there is almost no bending except for the foot I don't mind it being bendy I guess. For the rest, I don't really know. I would rather have the hard pieces yeah. It's ok if my armor change shape that's what I meant. To be honest, this is why i am willing to pay. Even more so, I am willing to pay more to have someone teaching me properly ! All the pieces are separated too...
I am a newbie, sorry if I did not understood what you meant. Thank you for your answers
There are tutorials over at YouTube [some by PAs too such as Mada, Sickleyield, The Guru, etc] and DeviantArt [Sickleyield for eg.].
