I just downloaded the newest update and when I try to render Genesis 2 male with anything more than hair and one or two articles of clothing Studio crashes. sometimes I'll get a critical memory error but sometimes it just shuts down. I am using the 32bit version

I am currently running on a

Dell laptop

1.6 gig processor
3.0 gig ram
500 gig harddrive

    32 bit...3 GB RAM...laptop (Intel Graphics?)

    What version of Windows?

One problem, right out the gate...3 GB of RAM. It's not enough, especially once you factor in the shared memory used by the video (probably 512 MB to 1 GB) and what Windows itself is using...which can be between another 512 to 1 GB. So, before you even open Studio you are down to somewhere between 1 and 2 GB of your 3GB. And that doesn't count anything else you may have running, including background processes. With Studio itself requiring around 250 MB (or more, depending on plugins/start scene) to open without loading anything at all, you are really running out of room. Adding a 'simple scene' of a G2M, hair and clothing can push that to close to half a gig. And you will need about the same amount of memory available as DS uses in order to render successfully.

Remember to check the page we created pointing to established threads where many Iray users have already been tackling many Iray topics, if you're using Iray.

I'd take a look at this post by DAZ:
    https://helpdaz.zendesk.com/entries/67520170-System-Recommendations-for-DAZ-Studio-4-

To decide what computer to go with I would use the following guidelines:
•Make sure your motherboard has the latest Intel chipset (currently the X99)
•For graphics applications 32GB of RAM is a good minimum, most high end systems have 64GB but this will have little to no impact on your render time.
•6 core CPUs are enough if you are going to use Iray (or other GPU renderer), when you get into high core count GPUs, the CPU becomes less important.
•Get as many large GPUs as you can… 4GB or memory is a minimum, over 8GB is probably not going to be needed. Core count is critical, so if two less expensive cards give you more cores than one expensive card, go for the two cards…

    The earlier recommendation was here:
