Will Spine and Ribs Detail HD work with XTransfer?

...just saw that Sicklyield has released morphs for rib and spine details for G8/8.a  and wondering  if these can be transferred to G3 via X-Transfer?  Been waiting a very long time for improved torso details like this.

XTransfer is for converting G3 to G8.

You can't transfer HD morphs with any converter anyway.

...you're correct, thought it worked both ways like some of the conversion utilities do. Also noticed does not transfer HD morphs above base resolution.

Bugger, could have really used something like this for G3. as I really cant afford to "retool" for G8 for using it as a base to create custom characters like I can with G3.

Zev0 has been teasing a G8 to G3 XTransfer for quite some time, so hopefully it'll be out soon.

...that would be nice.  Again it would only transfer HD morphs at base level but  that's better than nothing and I rarely go above that anyway as i have older hardware..

I'll keep this on the wishlist for now then.

There are not enough polygons in the lower chest area for this to work well at base resolution, so you really do need the HD morphs.

So even if Zev0 did bring out a G8 to G3 converter this is unlikely to help. On the subject of the converter, I read somewhere that Zev0 has lost his main script partner, certainly on this product, so I doubt this product will be along anytime soon. Riversort Art does have a G8 to G3 converter, but again, this only works on standard resolution morphs.

....this is the statement from the product page:

Note - This product does not transfer HD Morph Detail higher than Base Resolution.

So it sounds like you just can't use higher HD settings (though there is also Render HD)

Isn't Disco Bob his current script partner?

Crikey if I had any appreciable skill at modelling I'd consider doing it myself but I don't and modelling "organic" forms is more difficult  than "hard" ones.

Also don't have ZBrush so no way to do sculpted morphs.

Even if you made the morphs yourself, you as an end user rather than a PA would have no ability to import the morphs into DS. If you were feeling particularly adventurous, you could export your scene to Blender, make the morphs there, and then render your scene in Blender.

...so how do people on Rendo or ShareCG produce morphs for Daz characters?.

Using a modeling app usually. there is a big difference between the HD tool from DAZ and calling something HD, like some at other stores do

..so there's a special tool only available to PAs to create HD morphs for Daz characters.  .

Bugger.  Guess I need to make a request. on the product suggestion forum for all it's worth.

There isn't a special tool that allows PAs to CREATE HD morphs; that can be done in any modeling software. What PAs do have is the ability to import them into DS as morphs. The Morph Loader that you and I have access to will only import morphs at base resolution.

Disco Bob was his script partner for X-Transfer, but I believe Disco Bob is no longer working on DS scripts. Some of Zev0's newest products are partnered with Bitwelder, so maybe he/she is the new script guy.

I have no inside info on this btw, just stating what I have read on the forums.

    ...thanks.

Made a post on the Product Suggestions forum and took the product off the wishlist,  Sad, as even for a new release, it's priced fairly affordably it would be perfect for elves and fey.  If it also included G3, I would have got it immediately..

Where are those HD morph sliders located? I just can't find them.

    Same here...

  • Where are you looking, under Parameters or Shaping?  Sometimes morphs won't appear at all (or at least be very hard to find) under Shaping but will appear if you select and expand Parameters.
