Products turning into Daz Plus

Why are so many products that I have wishlisted turning into Daz Plus products suddenly? I don't get it and I think it's not good marketing.

I am not planning on getting Daz Plus so it's a bit dissapointing to see that dozens of products on my wishlist have turned into + products. Products that I would have bought I won't buy now and I have removed them from my wishlist. It's a counter productive way to make me spend money on the store.

I am only on Daz for 6 months so I don't know if this is a normal thing, but they are missing out on sales from me now.

Sorry, this is just a small rant that maybe belongs in a feedback topic. :)

I'm not certain what the problem is. Most Daz+ products are not exclusive to subscribers, they're just discounted for subscribers. (Although they might be excluded from some sales, but do still get discounts from time to time). The ones that are exclusive I believe have been Daz+ only since launch.

(And if you mean Daz Originals... same deal, although I don't think any of those that aren't Daz+ are exclusive).

I don't see why a product being a Daz+ item would prevent you from purchasing it if you're not a member. Aside from the handful of products released as Daz+ exclusive from the start, Daz+ items are simply items which are sold at a bigger discount for members.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand your problem. If items are part of the Daz+ programme, that doesn't mean you can't buy them. You just can't get them as cheaply as Daz+ members. The price for non-members remains the same.

Reading this I have understood that whole Daz Plus wrong then as I thought those products were all exclusive to Plus members only. I guess I have dumped those items from my wishlist for nothing then

there is a huge price difference though. If they are on your wishlist, it very well may be worth it to join DAZ+ ... also, you can join for short time, 3 months and buy what you need.

I'm not aware of products becoming Daz+ - but as it's been said.. if this even was the case, nothing would have changed as a non-member.

All that would have happened is that members could purchase it cheaper..?

A number of products have been bought out at various times and rereleased as DAZ+ products. Protozoon's earlier products are a recent example.

If you have a lot of products on your wish list, it's worth getting the membership—lots of discounts and freebies. Look for membership sales.

Yes, sorry I should have claried I was talking more recently - but as I say even in that example of them becoming Daz+, it doesn't actually change anything for non-members - that's why I'm confused.

I'm sure milage varies for different users, but to me, Daz+ is still worth it. And I really advice people to consider it.
30% Discount on all Daz Originals definitely adds up.
The freebies do add up even more. Yes, there are a lot of plants, but I'd actually consider that a good thing. They're great props and screenfillers, and all that variety means I won't be limited to the same handful of plants in every render.
And then there's the Daz+ products, which are really affordable. Some people consider them B grade because they seem so cheap, but, in my opinion, they are all competitive in quality with things found in the rest of the store. So no, I wouldn't consider them B grade, but of the same quality as the rest of the store. Their creators just opted for a different contract with Daz. Sometimes they do that just for a few of their products, other times, they do that for all their products. Only recently did the Daz store start including them on the daily sale page on their release day, which is a good thing, as people without Daz+ probably never felt they had a reason to even look at the weekly Daz+ releases, and wouldn't even know what's in there. Which is a lot, and very affordable.

I've saved so much money over the years with D+, not just on D+ items but the DO percentage off and the coupons. Really, the price of a year is paid for within six months if you just use the coupons, not to mention the 30% Daz Originals and the huge discounts on D+ items, which I look forward to every Wednesday seeing what came out as I find a lot of great stuff there to snag. As it's said above, if you have a lot of items on your wishlist that are D+, you are actually better off signing up, you'll save some serious cash.

it initially saves you heaps but after 10 years and you look at DAZ-Deals total expenditure and your 256page product library you begin to realise maybe it's time to curb spending and leave devil

I like when PA products become DAZ Originals.
