HY Ponytail WTH

I just purchased this product HY Ponytail for Gen 3 and Gen 8. The hair loads fine as does the ponytial, however the ponytail does not color. It does not show up in the scene window or it shoes up as HY Ponytial base and thus If I change the hair color to red or blond the ponytail does not color, Why not? what is going on? I just can't get that to color properly so I cn only use the hair if I stick to the base brunette color...please. Any suggestions? I tried loading the item using the surface tool to load the products and that doesn't help. Any more suggestions?

You need to have the tail selected to apply a material.

You can for that 1/ select "HY polnytail" and RClick>Select_Children or 2/ directly select the tail in the scene tab. It is parented to the "hip...head" in the hair, or you can just search it in the scene by typing "hair tail".
