IRay slows down my PC.

Hi,
Ive recently downloaded DS 4.8 and experiment some Iray renders.
My PC is a Win 7 64 with i7 core and GTX 560 8G

First GPU render is working quite well; followings are slower and slower (up to 10 times initial duration). I noticed that once the render is finished DS continues working, keeping all CPUs saturated for a while (3 to 5 minutes). Even if I exit DS the process remains alive for a long time just like it was collecting some garbage or freeing resources. Does anybody else have experienced the same? Any remedy?

Regards,
Bernard.

do you set Iray preference to use GPU and not CPU ?

after finished rendering and scene saved, just kill the process with Task Manager.

I tried both; it is more or less the same except that CPU is 3 to 4 times longer. "garbage-collecting" takes place in both.

Curiously killing the process doesn't solves completely the problem, if a run DS again it continues doing something in background.
