Beauty Canvas

Most of the time I render out a Beauty Canvas (and sometimes a Depth Canvas if I was to post in DOF)...

When I bring the file into Photoshop I am pretty limited in what I am able to do with the file.

Does anyone have any suggestions for other photo programs that play nice with the EXR file format?

Which version of Photoshop is this? Affinity Photo seems to do pretty well, though I've not had occasion to edit extensively.

     In this case 2022...  However...

In previous versions of PS I found that I could do HDR Toning, but it was usually meaningless because PS would make me downgrade the image to 16 bit before doing anything else. Which meant rendering the HDR Toning pointless.

Today, pretty much right after I posted this question (which I did while waiting for a render to finish) I discovered that 2022 was much more forgiving. After the HDR Toning I have pretty much all of the options available, including Filter Forge which was previously unavailable.

check this https://www.exr-io.com/ that working fine with all of my EXR projects . The problem not every Photoshop filter ( and even layer blending mode ) works in 32 bit . I do believe Affinity have that as default

The lack of filter support was exactly what drove me to ask. Thank you for the additional information, I'm going to take a look at that.

PS has been getting better with EXR files... In a short time they went from "I don't know how to open," to "I can open but don't know what to do with it," to currently "I can do some stuff with this."

I'm just glad to be away from having to immediately downgrade the EXR file to 16 bit when I open it.

I do all my post in Affinity Photo and have never had any issues editing in 32-bit.
