Importing Genetica 4.0 Pro textures and maps into Carrara 8.5 and other Daz3d applications.

Are there utility software for preparing and coverting Genetica textures and maps.

I would like to use tools within the various Daz3d applications to access the textures and maps for my projects.

Carrara shader files - appear to have speciifc suffix = *.CBR

I presume I need to have a utility to create the files with the CBR suffix.

I use daz3d studio 4.8, Carrara 8.5 beta, Hexagon, and Bryce 7.1

A shader file is not a texture - it's settings (and possibly actual shader code), including the maps to use. I'm not familiar with the way Carrara materials work but you would need to apply the maps from Genetica to the intended surfaces and then presumably save your .cbr file with the settings, including links to the maps.

You will need to create image files such as .bmp, jpg, png etc to use in applications outside of Genetica.

I tried to view the carrara shader files and you are correct, they are files with more than textures/map information.

The Carrara files are created by either a standalone file builder or tool inside Carrara that creates the shaders for use of Carrara.

Yes..agreed.. I am interested to create respository of shader files I can access within the application.
Individually texturing is a slow process when you have to apply diffuse,normal,specular..etc. as you go.
