Turn limit ON - OFF

i had always the problem (from 4.5-to 4.8)

by default in preference! (F2) i have the "LIMIT OFF"

i create new character, but the limit is again ON!
i save with manual select LIMIT OFF, on next reload the limit is again ON!
i try the 3 option (ON/OFF/Show dilaog)

how do a fix that problem?
i want always my character to be by default "LIMIT OFF"

also, if is possible to always disable "interactive" smoth (by default) overide any load

i suggest for developpers
could be a good idea to use a "INI file" to check what is ON or OFF by default!

The preference controls what happens when you load a pose preset that goes beyond limits, not how the base figure loads. I would, however, expect that the setting would be retained in a saved scene or scene subset at least so if that doesn't work please report it as a bug. You can also use a report to make a feature request for DAZ Studio - though be aware that some things require limits on to work.

    hi
i save again the same character after i select ALL part and use the LIMIT OFF

again when i re load the limit is ON!

    note:
the SHOW REQUEST limit ON / /OFF window appear only when i apply one "pose" on my character.

Are you saving your character as a preset or as a scene/scene subset?

I just tested and both Character Preset and Scene Subset respected the Limits Off setting. Are you sure you are selecting all the bones before turning limits off?

I tested same thing just to interesting how each preset or subset work,,,t.
Yes = can memorize Trun limit , , No = can not memorize Turn limit..
(I only test with triax figures, and DSON)

    save as scene = Yes
save as scene subset = Yes
save as character preset =Yes..(when load new character) and No (when apply the preset)
save as parameter preset =No (I beleive it need to work ^^; then send request again,,,)

About character preset, it work differently,
when use it to load new Character, or to apply character preset for already loaded Figure..

Turn Limit status not applied if I "apply" character preset on already loaded character.

but If Use character preset to load new figure (genesis2female), it can load ,saved turn limit On-Off status.

I think character preset smoemtimes confuse me
it seems same about weight-map and joint edit.
it can memorize current weight map, and joint edit (as same as scene subset), then when we load character
these modify preserved. but it can not apply these modify to loaded figure.

And limits are definitely off - you can pretzel the figure - before saving? And not on loading?

Preset or not, I saved with limit OFF and on load the limit is back to ON

I Think, there is no problem if the character is saved in "RESTORE POSE" (reset all to zero before save)

Once I create a new character and apply changes for textures I use manually personal pose with the two hands close to the face, In this case I can see all changes of textures, also in "finger nails"
I am forced to turn limit OFF for this pose or I can't put the two hand front of face!

When I finish I remove lights saved as scene,,
Next I reload to apply clothes and hair, I try to made some changes on pose and there the limit, is again ON

I can survive with this problem,
My thread was to know if there is anything I do wrong before save! I think not.
    -
i noticed also problem in limit OFF when you save your character with old type predefined pose (NOT DUF)
    also
in some case, using old type V4 pose on a G2 character, that turn 'Interactive Smooth" ON, on clothes and character!

Restore will restore limits, yes, so if you are using that you would then need to turn limits off. Though I can get the hand reasonably in front of the face with limits on.

Select needed nodes -> LIMIT OFF -> Save Modified Assets.

What pose are you trying to achieve? It's very easy with the arms to lose track of how much is due to twisting further up the arm, and self-perception can be off (when I assumed the pose above I was sure my elbow was well down, it was only when I checked the mirror that I saw it was sticking pretty much straight-out like the figure's).

    and then?

does that fix when i load the scene my character load with LIMIT OFF; or i need after load to reload preset ?

that was not problem in past version with V4!

that pose i use (on screen) i don't save it, is only for the textures selection

sometime i put the "toes" also close to the face,,, to be shure about toes nails :-)

anyway,, problem is not the "pose", problem is,, the "LIMIT ON"
    - why he don't save the limit OFF !?

And - everything! With this method, the changes are saved directly to the base figure G/G2.
