Does anybody have a suggestion for a subway car?

Hey there, I have The Central District Subway Station that never came with a subway car as far as I can tell. Does anybody have a suggestion for a subway car that works best with it? It would be nice to find one that doesn't need a lot of adjustments to make it work. Since I already have the station, I figure it would be nice to extend its usefulness.

Ile-avalon's Subway Car is almost the perfect gauge, the right height for the platform and doesn't poke through the ceiling. Interior and exterior.

Serum's Subway Train For Iray is almost the right height for the platform, and fits in the available space, but the gauge is way off. Interior and exterior.

There are several others, but the fit is not so good, and would require a lot of scaling to make it fit, and might look odd.

...one thing that kept me from buying this and a few others is there is no third power rail. That seems to be an oversight on several subway station and tunnel products.  Used to ride the CTA (Chicago) and New York subway systems quite a bit and on both the "third rail is quite obvious.

Similarly a number of subway cars/trains here and in the other store lack the "contact shoe" that rides along the third rail.

Thanks for the info NorthOf45. I added Ile-avalon's subway car to my wishlist for now. That helps a lot.

I see what you mean Kyoto Kid. I've never ridden a subway in my life so never even knew about that. My renders won't likely show the tracks though, so I'll be good without that.

...the Underground in London has the power rail in the centre.  Dogz Tube Train and Tube Station that were recently released do include it.

The problem with most of the sets that have a train is that they only have cars that don't have any driver's compartment which means that they can't really be used for shots where the front of the train is showing. They often don't have any connectors either.

...ah I stand corrected on a couple products.   Polish's Subway Train (and Cyberpunk Subway Station that is part ofthe bundle) appears to have a power rail in the centre like the London Underground.  2nd-World's Metro at Rendo also appears to have one.on the left side of the track.

Not all subways are the same.  The Montreal metro does not have a third rail or contact shoes that can be seen from a passenger point of view.

...the Montreal Metro is a bit unique as it rides on rubber tyres instead of metal wheels (though there is are metal wheels as a backup),  There are also two "guide bars" on both sides of the train that serve as the "power rails" which are electrified to 750 V.

Yes, Montreal's subway is special, but we live with it.  Anyway, I'd not turn up my nose at a missing third rail unless the story I was telling involved someone getting electrocuted, especially at Daz prices.

...yeah some of us are sticklers for details.

The one nice benefit with the rubber tyres it is a lot quieter compared to "steel on steel" like we have here.

One of our LRT lines runs through a long tunnel (about 4.7 KM) under the west hills.  Even though the windows do not open, it is still loud inside the train which travels through the tunnel at about 85KMH.  Instead of a power rail it uses an overhead line even in the tunnel.

I remember in the 60s when CTA (Chicago) still had trains with windows that could be opened. It was like having a jet engine inside when in the tunnels and even on the elevated in the Loop.

At the bottom of the window frame is the track and latches for rasing and lowering the window with notches to set it at.  Normally opening the windows while underground was highly disocuraged but someone would always do it.

I've ridden the MAX through that tunnel to the Oregon Zoo several times, but it's been quite a long time since I've done it.
