Thank you Szark. Didn't mean to step on your toes but I went looking for one and the search results weren't very helpful.

I just had another look at that and I am not sure if it is really needed.

And I am not a good judge, I need new glasses and just can't afford them at the moment.

The reason i used the top coat was, it was the only place I could set the refraction to 1 to give crisp reflections. Well that's my way of thinking
    i am probably wrong.

You can't be wrong if it works. :-) It may or may not be optimal, but it isn't wrong!

I will say air has a refraction of 1 so in this case it probably wouldn't do anything.

Thanks everyone, I am really happy with the interest you have shown. 500 downloads so far, I am truly amazed. I thought it would just get lost in the gazillion other resources on the site.

You have all made me very happy. :-)

When its good...its good i have used this shader so much because it really is good. I think the thing i like most about it is the fact that its not 1:1 when it comes to lighting. The light in the room is subdued in the mirror substance just like real life.

    Your shader in action.

One difference I see with your shader is that the illumination looks more equal to the lighting in the scene.  Most shaders I've used in the past, the reflection looked dark.  This looks right on the money.  Really good work!  Thank you so much!  laugh
