Looking for Casual Male Clothing Suggestions

I was tasked with creating a summer backyard BBQ scene this weekend, and realized that while all of my G8F characters had a variety of sundresses, party dresses, tops and shorts to choose from, my G8M characters had... um... jeans and workout clothes. 

I'm just curious as to whether anyone has any favourites they use time and time again. I'm not very picky. As a term, I would classify "casual" as being anything a guy might throw together when leaving the house on a weekend day. Shorts, t-shirts, regular shirts... maybe khakis?  Most of my characters are G8 but it's easy enough to get G3 to work on them, too.

Again, no pressure, not looking for The Cheapest or The Best or anything like that, just looking for suggestions.

Try doing a store search using "summer" as the search term and selecting G8, G8.1, and G3 male as your figure choices.  A nice selection of shorts, shirts, and swimwear were found.  If I recall, there might have been some slacks as well.  I have several of the outfits from the search results, all of which are quite good.

There are several nice shorts for male characters. However, I'm generally less excited about the jeans, pants and trousers available. Somehow, when I see them in the store, the legs often look more like tubes than like the legs on actual clothes. I guess it's a tricky part to model, but male clothing in general is more bland, and tends to have less shine, glitter and cutouts to draw the attention away from details like fabric, depth, seams (there's generally 2 on each leg!) and folds.

The top part is the easiest: plenty of decent jackets and shirts.

Final part is the shoes. This is slightly harder again, there are some good ones, both regular shoes and sandals, but also some that seem a bit clunky with thick soles.
And don't forget about the socks! Many male outfits don't include socks, but there are some around, which you can use everywhere (provided they fit inside the shoes..)

Overall, kitbashing gives the nicest results for male casual. It's how guys generally dress for casual. Casual isn't an outfit for a guy. Casual is a matter of grabbing some acceptable pieces and just wearing them.

I've spent a fair amount of time trying to get socks to fit just right inside shoes without clipping inside the calf or ankle. I haven't tried it with watches with long sleeves yet (just short sleeves for now).

On a slightly related note, I'm guessing that male content is one those things that has more available than it seems - it seems like the females have scores upon scores of content while the males have just enough to get them through a few settings.
