Why does the Filtering system not have this???
You know the more I use the filtering system in SMART CONTENT from DAZ Studio the more I am beginning to wonder why many of the categories do not have basic filtering systems in place , Like separating all Genesis 3 from all Genesis 8 figures and items, why wardrobe, for instance, does not have a sub filter for male and female items, I mean it has it for Figures....why doesn't it exist in the Wardrobe section an in the accessories section.
I am puzzled by this, you would think if you have over 500 items minimum, that it would be of great utility to have something that could filter between genders or items belonging to a Genesis type. Is this something many have brought up? Has DAZ acknowledged this...is there a way to workaround and do it yourself????
Someone, please throw me a bone.

Problem is that organization in the Content libraries is what's in the vendor's bundles ZIP. And not all vendors have the same logic when it comes to organizing assets.
That's why most DAZ users organize their own way everything that's in the People subfolder. Using any File manager you can make your own folders, name them as you please, organize them the way you want, create custom thumbnails (a simple png that has the same name as the folder), etc. And end up this way with a Content Tab that looks exactly the way you want it.
People's needs are very different when it comes to tidiness. For example I organize my assets by vendor's names. One subfolder for each. I doubt that it would be convenient for others. Many organize assets per style (goth, cyber, Ancient, Vintage, etc.) So it's hard for DAZ to decide what's best for me, or for you. DIY remains the best solution ;)
If you have tons of assets and never did that once, sure it's gonna take some time. But doing it a bit every day, and then later everytime you install a new bundle, will save you a lot of trouble searching for things that are not where you'd like them to be.
Does the Filter By Context checkbox not handle this?
I am glad that my library isnt that big yet so I want to keep it organized from the get go.
What is the best way to back up your libraries and does it also save all the categories you create yourself?
Don't confuse the Content Library folders structure and the Default Categories. They are absolutely unrelated. The Content Library structure comes from the way the PA has laid out the contents in the .zip, in a semi-standard way. The Default Categories are built from the metadata that is added after the fact by DAZ, which also loosely follows some standards, but seems to be subject to interpretation at times. You can make your own Custom Categories to organize things the way you want.
@Websoul, yes you can export your customization. Right-click the Content Library tab, or click the pane's context menu (the hamburger), and select Content DB Maintenance. From there select Export User Data. One or more UserData_nn.dsx files will be saved in the Runtime/Support folder of the first library in your setup.
Are you saying that I can make my own Smart Content Categories? If so can you point me to where I can learn to do this. I already know how to do it in Content Library, but in the Smart Content is where I need to create the changes and add unique Categories.
Categories are categories, Smart Content doesn't have its own set.
