DAZ Marketing - sales on textures before sale of base item

Could someone explain to me the marketing logic of selling a texture for a product 1 to 2 days before the base item goes on sale?

Cart before the horse?

this is an actual question, not some kind of indirect criticism of DAZ.

If you mean Daz+FAD items, then yes, I've seen it several times and don't get it either.

Thanks for the answers but still the mystery remains. Inquiying minds want to know.

I don't agree that I would call it a failure, but rather a marketing rational I don't understand. I can ascribe unworthy motives to the strategy, but I am hoping someone with some marketing experience in this kind of strategy could elaborate.

Now I am curious what texture this is and if I bought it inside one of the recent bundles.

I can remember catchup sales where either prices were higher, or you had to buy a certain amount to get the same price. So if you missed e.g. the textures the first time, you would have to spend more during the catchup sale to still get them.
