Eye and vein issues

edited December 1969 in The Commons

I am rather new to the Daz render world and Iray has been like going to middle school and then being thrown into college so I feel very lost. I only have learned the bare basics of 4.6 before being drawn to this new format and I have two issues i would like to ask based on my render here.
First is the issue of her eyes, they seem lifeless, cloudy, milky but with some reflection of her own leg which was unexpected with all the other negatives. Can anyone help me with how to bring some real color and sparkle back to her eyes? I am up for trying anything but remember you will probably be speaking Mandarin due to my limited knowledge of how to attain specific results.
The other problem i cannot find a solution for is veins/vascularity. In non-Iray mode bother her eyes and veins show up vividly but here they are obviously hidden. Any ideas on how to bring them forth?
I do really love some aspects of this new engine like how her skin tone appears but I am scratching my head over the other issues. Thank you for any help you can provide. Kickfan

    Have you tried here?
    http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/56788/

There's a thread about Iray and skin in there.
Eyes are very tricky; DAZ_jones posted some usable settings somewhere in one of the threads, but I don't have a link right now.
EDIT: For Tears and cornea, try Thin Glas shader.

I thought the Water Thin shader was the recommended one. That's what gets applied when you use the Iray optimised MATs for G2F/G2M, anyway, and I get good highlights from that.

And really for the 'best' look you need to morph the shape of the cornea/eye reflection surface. If you don't have one of the morph packs that includes the CorneaBulge morph, you can use this set...

I'll also note that Irises often look weird.

My best effort has been to use the Iray optimized skin, and then plug the diffuse map into the glossy color.

I really appreciate all the advice given so far, not that I really understand what the 'water thin shader' is or where to locate it, or how to make a cornea bulge, sounds like add-ons I have not yet purchased. But I did use the gen 2 Iray optimization mat for her. Not sure what failed in that attempt if the water thin shader was supposed to be the default for that. i will see what I can do about the cornea issue if i can find the resouses. I just wish Iray was as simple as 4.6 or 4.7 but I guess with advancement comes much frustration for those who are on the lower end of the food chain. thanks for the help though, i appreiate any and all advice and help. In Shaping tab, 'eye cornea' or similar, set cornea to 1. This makes it rounded rather than flat.

Water thin shader is under Shader Presets > Iray > Liquid

Honestly, just using Gen2 Iray Optimization gets you most of the way there. I haven't felt the need to change anything in the eyes after applying that, other than Cornea size and the Iris thing I mentioned above.
