DAZ Studio cannot find asset DazCentral says is installed

Is there someway to force-sync installed assets? Rebuild databases? Force update?

A lot of assets that DazCentral (1.5.0.20) says are installed do not show up in DAZ Studio (4.20.0.17, Windows). I have clicked every refresh button I could find in Smart Content and Content Library with no luck.

If I uninstall and reinstall the asset in DazCentral, it immediately shows up perfectly in DAZ Studio. It is, however, a pain to do this asset by asset.

Where are you looking in Daz Studio? Content Library under Daz Studio Formats (or Poser Formats, if appropriate) is the only view that goes diectly from the files on disc - except for the Daz Connect container, which should be empty if you are using Daz Central exclusively. If the files were not there initially but were after reisntalling then that suggests the path settings had changed. If they were missing only in the database views (Categories, Products, and the other panes showing content files) then it suggests a database issue - perhaps starting Daz Central while Daz Studio was closing, which might have led to the databse not being available while Daz Central was working.

TL;DR: it seems to be indeed a database or file lock problem. The work-around seems to be to install the assets slowly; a few at a time. As the files were in the disc, I was hoping for a way to rebuild the databases without having to reinstall everything.

    Long version:

I have uninstalled almost everything and I am rebuilding from scratch. Fortunately, it seems to be going ok. Unfortunately, it means I cannot do much testing until I run into the problem again (which I hope I don't).

I didn't really look in the Content Library under Daz Studio Formats too carefully because I seldom use it. As it goes from the files on disc, which I checked with the documentation and Windows' File Explorer, I believe it might be ok. So, I am assuming now, as I was when I posted the question, that the problem was indeed in the database views.

However, what I observed after starting this thread is that there is a folder called ...\DAZ 3D\InstallManager\ManifestFiles. The assets that were installed in DazCentral (files in disc, Open button instead of Install) but didn't show in DAZ Studio did not have a corresponding file in this folder, by which I mean a dsx file with the asset's sku and title in its name. During installation from DazCentral, a temporary file called InstallingInfo.dsx is created in this folder and I think the problem might be that DazCentral mishandles that, if too many install request are made at the same time. If I only click on a few Install buttons at a time in DazCentral, the assets seem to be correctly installed. Of course, this is what I can see; it is entirely possible that the root problem is a database lock, as suggested, but caused by too many install requests instead of the opening/closing.

I could see that the problem was in the database and then in the abscence of the manifest file. I was hoping for a way to rebuild the databases from the files in the disc or create the manifest file without having to reinstall everything. Specially as I have to uninstall and reinstall slowly and in batches of around 10 assets, which wastes a lot of time, besides the bandwidth.

I looked int the dsx files hoping it would be possible to create those missing manually, but I am afraid that it would be too hard, if at all possible, for me to collect the information they contain, regarding codes, dates and files for the products.

It appears there is no easy solution, then. I appreciate the explanation and suggestions, though! At the very least, I understand DAZ Studio's views a bit better.
