Hello,
Please, can someone confirm the bug?
export from DS4 a standard Genesis2F in
-obj format (default options)
-abc format (without any animation) also with default options
Import both in Octane
Apply the same face material to both
The texture on the abc import (right on the picture) is wrong.
Thanks!
I tried with other files with the same result or perhaps I miss something

Are you talking about the eyes? Check the opacity on the cornea.
The eye reflection and the tear material are missing the transparency. Simply switch them out to the "clear cornea" material from the octane live data base. That works well.
TD
And/or the Eye Reflection Surface if that is Genesis 2.
Excuse me I was incomplete.
It's not about the eyes (I didn't applied any material) but with the brows.
If you zoom on the picture you can see "square" on the abc object (right) and no "square" on the brow of the obj import (left) with the same face material applies to both (UV problem?)
I have the same problem with all my abc export whatever the object.
Same here. Daz Studio to Softimage via Alembic Exporter.
Looking closely at the eyebrows, each individual quad polygon is flipped in what seems to be the U.
Very disappointing given how long the exporter's been out there (I only got it yesterday).
Aha. The normals are inverted when I import into Softimage with 'Use Normals' ticked, but, the UVs look good. When I invert the normals to make them right (note: not inverting the polygons, but the normals only, there's a difference), the UV problem's fixed.
Thank you Jim!
Glad to see I'm not alone. Not currently in front of DS4, your workaround is in DS4 export options or in Softimage (Not sure to find the same solution in Octane) ?
I had to do it in Softimage. Can't see a way of doing it in DazStudio, but maybe someone more knowledgeable of Studio knows better.
Thanks for your help
I opened a ticket but no answer since 25 days :-(
At least that confirm that it was not anOctane trouble
I've opened a ticket as well.
