fast & simple ways to make a figure invisible or transparent?

Hey,

let's say you have 2 figures, figure A and figure B, shaking hands together.

Now, when your main subject is figure B, I sometimes get annoyed by figure A getting in the way of my render camera.

So, could anyone tell me the easiest way to:

1. Make figure A completely invisible (clicking on the eye mark from the scene tab takes too long)

2. Make figure A transparent (Maybe from the surface tab I guest?)

3. Make figure A transparent, but leave his hand visible

Any kind of advice, and tutorial links are appreciated!

You can hide the whole figure by holding down the cmd(Mac)/ctrl(Win) key and clicking the eye icon.
