Is there any dForce hair lock state?

Hi,

For some dForce hair, the initial state before a simulation is not good enough for my needs. Sometimes to achieve my goal, I need to simulate using the timeline. The hair looks like I want only at the end of the simulation.

Can I use the final state of the hair after the simulation on the timeline in another scene?

Freezing the simulation doesn't work. When I take the curser of the timeline to the start keyframe, the simulation returns to the initial state.

Thanks,

Yoni

Freezing the simulation locks it against any further simulation, so you can leave one thing locked while simlating another, rather than baking the final state. I can't recall if or how to export as OBJ to spawn a morph, but try setting the hair to show just the guide hairs (no interpolation).

    You ask an interesting question.
I haven't tried dForce for the hair yet, but I will sooner or later.

If you export the hair from the end of the simulation using the OBJ format, you can create a morph with Morph Loader Pro and use it for the start of the new simulation (I tried it for some clothes like dresses and it works fine)

    Another solution.
Create a new Genesis body pose from your final frame.
Create a new animation using this body pose for frame 1.
If there is not too much difference between the zero pose and this new pose for frame 1, dForce may be able to run without crashing.

Have you tried saving the hair as a shape preset? That probably won't work with dforce based hair though. Maybe save it as a wearable?
