Custom characters

Where does one go to get custom character models created? My intention is to create a graphic novel and my modeling skills are rudimentary.

    Big question...how custom?

    As in complete from the ground up, mesh and rigging? Or morphs for existing models?

    What kind of characters...humans, humanoid aliens, creatures, hybrids, 'bots...?

    Skins/textures?

    Clothing, props other accessories?
