Does anybody know where I can find some easy to understand instructions on how to make the DAZ Dynamic Flag hang normally on the pole and to wave in a wind? I have the latest versions of Studio and the full Dynamic Clothing Control plug in installed using DIM. Thanks.

I dont have DS available in front of me atm but the wind is added via the Dynamic cloth tab.

Whenever I have tried the dynamic flag the flag just falls away from the pole, regardless of what I do.

The wind emitter is available only with the non-free Dynamic Clothing Control plug-in. You might be able to get something by tilting the pole and animating some waving on it, then exporting as OBJ and reerecting the pole.

I have the full, paid for plug-in. The physics panel is visible. The flagpole is selected. It's the only figure in the scene that has dynamic cloth, it's the only figure in the scene that the plug-in recognizes. But there is no cloth listed in the main section of the panel. I've spent three hours searching for help with this; there's plenty of help for V4 clothing, but this is different.

I also have the flag, and the full control panel, I have had more success than you with this, but it is a tempermental item to work with.

See below the two screen shots, one with the flag at rest, the second when it is flapping in the wind, the first was relatively painless, the second less so.

For the first scene I just double clicked to load the flag pole (this loads a flag aswell), and then selected all cloth in scene in the panel. I could see the flag in the Garment panel. Single frame drapping just gave an error, but animated drapping did work. I had to run a 120 frame animated drape or the flag did not come to a complete rest.

For the second scene I also ran an animated drape, but this time one of 30 frames (however the render was taken at frame 19 as it looked best at this position). I placed a wind object blowing roughly left to right angled up towards the flag. The wind strength was set to 12. I also changed the X Times Earth Gravity to 0.2.

The main issue I had with the second animation was that I could only run it once. A second animation always did nothing. So I had to save the scene just before drapping, and if I was unhappy with the drape I had to reload the scene, tweak some settings, save it again and then re-run the drape. If I saved after doing the drape, then even loading the scene again did not help, it seemed whatever it was that blocked a second drape was saved into the scene as well.

The flag stayed on the pole as long as I had it colliding with everything in the pole and the flag. However in some simulations, when the wind was too strong, then the flag would detach from the lower pin.

I hope this help some what.
