"Add new LOD" results in invisible character

I have uploaded a video of what I doing here:
I am sending Genesis 2 Female to Hexagon.
Then I dissolve some faces.
I export the new geometry as an obj.
Back in DAZ Studio 4.8 (64 bit), I import the new LOD using
Edit->Object->Geometry->Add new Level of Detail...
Then I switch to this LOD by clicking Parameters->Genesis 2 Female->Mesh Resolution->Resolution Level->MyNewLOD
When I do this, the character disappears.
Unfortunately there is no up-to-date documentation for this feature, so I would like to ask here.
Am I doing something wrong?
Thank you for the help.

It is your scale that is out I think, when you import it, you may need to change the import scale to Modo (10cm) or one of the other ones, then it will work.
What is it that you are trying to do with this, do you know what LOD was intended for? It stands for Level of Detail, and it was introduced, I think, with Generation 4, and there are LOD files for V4 and M4 which go very low in mesh detail. I think, from memory, that V4 has a 17k, 8k, 4k and 1k version as OBJs in the Geometries folder.
The idea was that these meshes would be swapped out depending on the distance from the camera. So a low res version would be used at a distance of over, say 20m, and the normal one used any closer.
Even with the modo setting "Modo" it does not work.
Yes, I do know what LOD is used for.
Unfortunately Genesis 2 come only come with a 20 k and a 40 k version.
Edit: I have tried out all available settings, and I think that "Silo" results in something usable.
:)
My character stays visible. :-)
Thank you!
Edit 2:
But I really wonder why I can not use the Hexagon profile.
Wouldn't that be the most natural choice since it was also developed by DAZ?
ps: I am now seeing that my approach does not seem correct. The vertices are somehow wrong.
But I guess I would have to open up another forum thread for this.
Basically, the import back into Studio options depend and need to match the export options.
So if you are exporting it as an obj file you need to set Daz, Hexagon or whatever, there, first. Then use the SAME scale when you import it back into Studio.
I meant to say 'Silo' which is 10cm, not Modo.
The reason is, that in your video it shows you exporting from Hex at 1.000, and if you import at the Silo (10cm) in DAZ Studio it comes out at the correct size.
