PostgreSQL CMS

Every time I open DIM to download my purchases or to update DAZ Studio, I see but ignore the check-box for PostgreSQL. I have not downloaded that for years because I think someone said there is no need to update it after the first install. Am I remembering correctly or should I be downloading it with every update? I can't say that I've noticed any SQL problems but then I probably wouldn't know that a problem was SQL related.

I don't use Smart Content as I like to organise my own content libraries so perhaps SQL is less important for me?

I never updated it either and do not have any problems working in Daz Studio.

Is it the same version (64/32 bit, General Release or Public Build) as the one installed? If not hide it - there can be only one PostgreSQL version installed, switching is likely to cause issues.

That's probably what I remembered being told before. I'll continue to ignore it (or, yes, hide it). I do wonder whether it does get updated - perhaps in the Microsoft updates - or whether it is a version specific to the DAZ Studio application.

I can't recall when PostgreSQL last had an update.

Yes, I've learned to ignore it, usually goes away after a restart.
