Hello
At the time of V4 it was easy to find content inspired in Luis Royo's art, like outfits, or poses, on the sites selling 3D content (DM made some for example). I can't seem to find anything in this mood for G8f, do you know of
any products like this for her ?

if you have the V4 poses then use Bone Minion for Generation 4 Poses
as for outfits try some of the converters
love his art BTW, had a tattoo of one of his images for my 50th

Thanks, that's a good idea, though I find it a bit sad that nobody does that anymore :(
Also yeah, his art is great tattoo material :)
I have a set of poses for G8 based off old classic fantasy art .... https://www.daz3d.com/sword-sworn-poses-expressions-and-prop-for-genesis-8 if you're looking for poses. I wish I could point you in a clothing direction. Royo is one of my favorite artists. :D

Thanks for showing those ! I'm wishlisting them. I'm just upset that they didn't appear in my searches so far :( I made "fantasy poses and animations for genesis 8 females" searches and was never shown this :(
This is a very nice set of poses.
this came to the front of the grey matter.
someone did a pose set based on "boris" art work. not really what you are looking for, and I cannot remeber what figures it was for.
BUT
a lot of the long flowing dresses from daz and renderosity can have there opcity lowered
plus underwear from both sites again.
royo does have a lot of oriental armour in his work, again both site should supply
also Rhiannon at rendo has a lot of modern looking, very good outfits that could be made to look the part. (other vendors are available)
demons and the like, daz is your best shot. the troll comes to mind.
dont for get wings angle/demon there a couple of good sets here at daz and there was a metal set (very royoish) made for poser ( dont let that put you off)
over at renderosity.
Dont forget body chains from Daz also. the list just gos on.
as for poses If your going down the road of royo ertica, rendarotica would be worth a look, with a lot of the pose set made for a good number of the
Daz demons (and linked on there site)
theres a lot to look at. I wish you good luck & look forward to seeing your finished work
Hey, good to see you again! Unfortunately, those sorts of outfits are a bit rare these days. DAZ moved away somewhat from fantasy skimpywear, and while you can still find impractial armor, we're not getting any more of the Royo/Boris/Frazetta gold pasties like in the V4 days.
Many of those items still will fit G8 fairly well, as I'm still using them after all this time. You might get some distorted edges and pokethrough, but there are tools to help fix that as others have mentioned. Hope to see some new Tyra art from you soon!
Hey Snowsultan !
Yeah we just shifted to DAZ ! I'm just surprised there is less Sword and Sorcery stuff, but there are quality products alright.
Working slowly on our characters as you can see :
The last time I had a strong sense of "Someone looked at Luis Royo art" was when the Lost Lagoon Bundle got released. The figure, the outfit, even the hair reminded me of just that. Might need some grungy retexture for the outfit, and maybe some tattoos and dirt on the figure, but the aesthetics are somewhere in there.
Not untrue, that outfit had caught my eyes. Of course the character and her hair too could totally belong to Royo's world.
Part of it is just that that particular type of fantasy art is far less common these days in general... and I'm not talking about Sword and Sorcery, but rather the entire non-realistic rendition of the human figure in general outside of the Anime/Manga/Videogame niches. More than that, though, what I've seen with the evolution of DAZ and Poser over the last 16 years is that the older products had to depend far more on stylized design and composition to compensate for the limitations of the figures and rendering engines themselves. As greater levels of photorealism became possible, however, the era of "naked vickies in temples with swords" was suplanted by the era of "ludicrous skimpwear," not just because the bodies underneath became more and more capable of holding to up closer scrutiny on their own, rendering the clothes and props of less overall importance, but also because the greater level of pseudo-reality made it harder to get away with less than absolutely perfect posing and musculature before things start to fall into the uncanny valley.
This sounds like an answer you'd see on Quora. You are overthinking it WAY too much. :)
I think it has a lot more to do with online payment companies overzealously flagging stores and vendors for selling adult content and the positive but somewhat artistically limiting attitude of no longer sexualizing women in fantasy-related content.
But I saw a lot of sexualized products, which as a female I don't have a problem with seems they are usually made in a "positive" sort, at least on Daz (the site), only they are in contemporary swimwears or such instead of Fantasy genre. Though, to be true, V4 had her share of urban / contemporary skimpy stuff :)
Actually, as someone who's worked in the entertainment industry for nearly 30 years,I'd have to say that there's more sexualizing of women now than ever before, it's just moved to a different level. The difference now is that the primary avenues have moved from B movies, comics, and magazines to the mainstream publishing industry, the major cable channels and streaming services, since, unlike the self-capped motion picture and older comics industry, the ratings systems for TV, Home Video and publishing are left to the discretion of the distributor and allow for far more explicit content than the MPAA's R rating. That said, while the whole "blame the credit card companies" defense gets pulled out a lot in discussions, it also has to be noted that in cases where the users and vendors have actually put up a major fuss, such as the recent OnlyFans debacle, companies do somehow manage to find a way around what were originally presented as insurmountable problems when faced with a significant hit in the pocket book.
I don't agree, but I won't argue with you because I don't have any special insight into the entertainment industy. DAZ did say something a while back in regards to needing to 'clean up' some of their content when I asked about the abrupt reduction of fantasy skimpywear years ago and I believe they said it had to do with online payment methods.
When I created the set I re-did some of my V4/M4 poses from some super old sword and sorcery sets I did that I did, indeed, base off a lot of Boris/Frazetta/Royo artwork. I thought it could use an update because I felt it was a look that was missing from the store. :) If you go way back in my store you will find those two old sets.
I was wondering if it was just my imagination that new clothing on DAZ has fewer morphs than when I joined. The quality of the clothiing here is superb, but it's as "safe" as that of a paper doll. My interest in DAZ (and 3D in general) is to make visual stories or sequences. It's very limiting to only have fully dressed characters; a clothing change scene allows for a transition. Changing clothes is a normal event, and helps to make a character real. This also limits scenes in other ways, such as showing the effects of a struggle or combat. As nice as the clothing is here on DAZ, I use other sources for clothing that don't restrict creativity as much. Wouldn't it be better if there were a range of clothing options so as many people as possible could find what they need? Sorry if I derailed this thread...
