how to make good looking macro shots

I'm planning on using daz to do macro shots but zooming on anything results in quite a blurry mess of pixels. I was wondering if any of you guys knew what to look for to do this, do I need a bigger resolution texture? If so where can I find those?

Thx

There is no attachment showing what you're hoping to do macros for.

General ideas that come to mind:

For starters, one could use a decent mesh - something with enough little squares to hold detailed information with.
A proper uvmap on said object ... one that uses as much of the square texture as it can.
Then a high res image [4K or 8K] to put on the base surfaces. Depending upon the topic, also a decent normal of said high res image. Possibly some additional textures on the other dials -- type of render affects which dials come into play.
Do spot renders to test how the final render would look - using the camera you plan to render through. Camera settings may require some adjusting too.

Also, if the target is very small -- it could be resized larger from the Parameters Tab - might make getting renders of it a lot easier as the lights have more surface areas to produce their lights and shadows with.
