How to replace a dress mesh with a new mesh and keep the texture settings?

I want to repalce a dress with a new mesh.

Basically I need the texture and material settings.

I dont' want to dial everything one by one for the new one.

Can I just replace the original with my new one?

I tried copy paste the surface, but it seems not working.

Basically it's the same dress, but the fabric already posed on marvelous designer.

    Is the UV unchanged?

    Check if the surface setting has defaulted to 3DL, and if so you first have to apply Iray Uber before copy/paste the surfaces.

    The UV is changed, because I have to remake the 2D pattern on MD, but I trace it from the orginal UV map, and rearrange it back to the same position as original on Blender.

    Where to check this 3DL? It's 3Delight right?
    and how to apply Iray Uber?

    For checking for 3DL or Iray. Select the dress in the scene tab, and open the surface tab. If the first map is called Diffuse Color it is 3DL. For Iray it is Base Color.

    To apply Iray Uber in Smart Content, go to Shaders > Iray and click "uber" in the seacrh bar, or in the Content Library go to Shader Preset > Iray > Daz Uber

    If the names of the surface groups are the same just save a Materials preset from the oldd ress and apply to the new.

    @felis
    Thank you.

    @Richard Haseltine
    It works.
    The process takes quite a lot of time.
    I wish daz have real time simulation like MD.

    For anyone who maybe going through the same thing.
    1. After retracing on MD, you need to assign each pattern to related fabric.
    If the original cloth has 4 surface groups, than on MD there should be 4 assigned fabrics.
    Look on DAZ which area for each surface group is.

    2. Export it as OBJ
    3. Import it on Blender
    4. Fix the uv, because the uv is messed up - size and position.

    5. Export is as OBJ
    6. Import it on DAZ
    7. Now you can copy paste each surface groups from the orginal to the copy.
    If the surface name is the same, you can do it all at once, but if different you need to copy paste one by one.
