can octane run emissives?

Just like the title, can DAZ octane run emissive? I got the impression when running a scene that it couldn't, but maybe I was just using them wrong? Anyone else get them to work in octane?

    In Octane emissive is the only solution to add lights (spotlight, etc.. are not supported). You must early convert materials, Iray materials are not compatible with Octane

    I see- I was hoping they worked- if they're the exclusive solution... I can live with that. Now- to find out how they work.
