Genesis 1 DarioFish(Renderosity)/HFS Races too Genesis 2 Male

Is there anyway to get GenX2 to work with those products so I can move the shapes to Genesis 2?
They don't seem to use Freak 5 or HD mesh or any other strange bases or dependents to limit it from being converted.
I don't know why I can't add them to the Genesis list or see them to port to Genesis 2 Male...
Even setting the shapes to 1.0 and updating the GenX to follow the figure in scene doesn't work lol
Am I skipping something?
I will try to send this to DarioFish at renderosity, but I don't how or if the site mail system there works with vendors... because like here at Daz, I cannot directly message a vendor from the store x.x

If the morph appears, and works, in the parameters/shaping panes for Genesis 1, I can not think of any reason why it can not be transferred over to G2M via GenX. Are you using the setting "Selected Morphs Only"?
Nothing shows up for some RawArt products that have Sub-Components and HD which I learned
but HFS shapes don't have any Sub-Components or Controllers, nor are they HD
Typing in any keywords don't find the shapes either :(
and dragging and dropping loader files into GenX don't add values...
Guess I can only use them on Genesis 1 xD
I'll check it out.
Okay, here is IRadian converted via Gen X to Gen 2 male. Did not bother with the skin.
This shape worked the old drag an drop way for me.
I have HFS Shapes for Genesis and they ported over to G2M with no problems.
Here are the steps I used.
1. Open GenX (version 2) tab.
2. Click on the Source button and select Genesis to load the Genesis morphs.
3. Expand: (region) Actor, scroll down and select all of the HFS prefixed morphs
4. Mode: Selected Morphs.
5. Shape: Genesis
6. Target: Genesis 2 Male
7. Click on the Transfer button.
That's crazy! It just not working for me Dx
Am I missing something that needs to be changed on Daz in general or something?
Thanks everyone for trying to help. I really appreciate it!
Are you able to complete the steps I described? IF not, describe where it's failing.
If the transfer is successful, you'll find the transferred morphs created in folder:
...\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 2\Male\Morphs\D3D Gen X\Genesis
In case you still need dariofish's help, I know he has a deviant art page, and he answers email there regularly. I'm at work, and can't get it right now.

No, they never showed up on GenX2 at all... search in GenX2 didn't even find them.
Setting morphs on a loaded G1 and getting values from figure in scene never worked either.

If you don't see the morphs in GenX2 at all, that indicates to me the morphs are not available to the Genesis figure to load.
When you load a fresh Genesis figure, do you see the HFS Races morphs on either the Parameter or Shaping tabs?

I sure do! That's how I know that they should be loading in GenX2 Dx
Crap, I forgot to tell you guys that whenever I load a new genesis, I get a Duplicate Formula message...
Hum, don't know what the problem may be that you don't see the HFS morphs in GenX2. I can confirm the search function does work for me if I type hfs in the search box and click First.
You may want to file a problem report with DAZ Technical Support.
Do you have all your Genesis morphs installed to the same content folder?
HOLY
What the heck is going on with my Daz Studio contect directories again!
It's still putting core things in wierd places.
I still own DS3 and have it installed and for some strange reason it has Genesis content in the data folder!?
Where?
1. My custom ZBrush morph data is in users/myusername/documents/Daz 3D/studio 3/content/data/Daz 3D/Genesis/base/morphs/darkviper016129 along with some other data
2. users/myusername/documents/Daz 3D/studio/My Library/data/Daz 3D/Genesis/base/morphs/(one ZBrush custom morph resides here under my darkviper016129 folder name) plus many other core morphs and extras
3. I also have some genesis content that resides within that NEWEST content change since DS 4.6?-4.8 called My Daz 3D Libarary that I rarely ever used personally.
What do I do. Am I screwed, will moving these thing to one places cause many of of previously created character and scenes to be destroyed via Daz 3D Scene files written with directories differently?
So I have I have content in:
Daz 3D Studio (The 1st Daz Studio 4.x Started this directory right?)
Daz 3D Studio 3 (Created by Daz Studio 3.x and isn't supposed to have any Genesis content right?)
Daz 3D - My Daz 3D Library (How new is this directory, because I never seen it until I started to use Install manager and Daz Studio 4.6+)
Maybe in the future on a new PC/Laptop I will clean all this mess up and have to deal with the loss of losing many many characters...
I mean people have had HDDs crash/fail and lost everything and had to start over with everything... so I guess in the future me losing some 3d characters won't be that bad :/
Thanks for reading and assisting me in advance
I currently work on a very weak and unstable wifi hotspot.
My DAZ 3D Library, in the public documents folder, is the default location for the Install manager. A clean install of a DS version later than DIM should add it as a content directory, installing ton a system that had an older version of DS 4 won't add it automatically.
\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library is the default location for DS4, content before DIM would be installed there if you didn't override the location and user created files still go there by default.
\DAZ 3D\Studio 3\Content was the default content location for DS3.
When saving a scene any auto-created asset files will be written to the content directory you are saving into, or to the first DS content directory if you are not saving to a folder inside a content directory. When saving assets (morphs, figures/props etc.) the content directory used will be listed (and can be changed) at the top of the option dialogue.
Having morphs, UVs and so on split across multiple directories is supported - and can be a good way to keep user content separate from store content and freebies - but ti can become problematic if multiple versions of the same file exist.
Or if one of those directories gets moved and the mapping in Content Directory Manager is not updated to reflect the change, or is lost completely. Unmapped/incorrectly mapped (including not ALL the default directories) is probably the biggest source of content problems around.
Is that still the case if you use recent DS versions but don't use DIM? Is it possible to not use the public documents folder and have Studio (without DIM) work OK?
("My DAZ 3D Library" is an interesting name for something located in the public documents folder)
.

As long as Studio is pointed to a 'top level' folder that will hold content, it doesn't care what it is named, name it George or something. It's even possible use the DIM and not use that one. Just create a folder where you do want it to be, as a replacement. Then in Content Directory Manager, map that folder. Close DS, use Explorer (or whatever file manager you use/OS supplies) and transfer the contents from that location to the one you just created. Then start DS and go back to CDM and remove that one.
For DIM, I find it easiest to change the folder BEFORE downloading...in other words, right after installing it, before using it.
How do I get GenX2 to notice the HFS Morphs? You guys are awesome and always reply to my problems.
Also, I wanted to say before:
You guys are awesome and almost always reply to my Daz Studio issues.
Thank you so much Daz3D Community!
I'm afraid, after all that, that I can't help with genX2 as I don't have it. Sorry.
Can you not load gen 2 male, then go to your product library, find the morph in question and drag it onto the gen 2 male window loaded in gen x?
Or apply the morph to the figure in screen and have it get values from the figure in the screen.
No, I been tested both of those and spoke of the values of figure on scene earlier :(
Nothing worked so far.
Okay.
So lets see.
Have you bought other genesis morphs at other places that work?
Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling gen x?
Perhaps we can try converting a morph together and checking the file locations. Do you have Iradian?
Not that I can think of xD
I mostly got morphs from Daz3D and rarely from renderosity for Genesis and Genesis 2
I'm so not gonna try that xD I always end screwing something when I try to do reinstall for plugin for programs :/
Nope, I have Talarian, Navarian, Kergan, and Catfolks and Demonics and Dwarves and and couple more xD just not Iradian
It does sound like a problem install or that the content is not in the correct path.
If you can convert other M4/v4 and genesis content, then I would double check where those items that you can successfully convert are installed... There may be a clue there.
Sorry, that's all I can think of at the present moment.
Hi I just wanted to pop in and thank user: Lindsey
I recently bought the HFS shapes
not realizing they did not work natively with
genesis 2
I have the GENX2 plugin and used Lindsey's method to transfer them to G2
and it worked perfectly!.
Here is a quick blender cycles preview render of the G2 male with one of the
morphs applied
Thanks!!!
