SAVED CHARACTERS WILL NOT LOAD WITH TEXTURES

sO NOW IT SEEMS ALL SAVED CHARACTERS LOAD WITHOUT TEXTURES.

 

ALSO

when trying to assign textures to then after they load, nothing happens.

What could be causing this?

HELP!!

    What do you mean by saved characters? Something saved by you?

    What does yout log say, when trying to apply a texture?

    Is this in preview or in renders? My first thought is that the Viewport is using the Smooth Shaded Drawstyle - the little sphere icon next to the camera/view picker ("Perspective View" or "Default Camera", probably) let's you pick, as does a number key plus ctrl(Win)/cmd(Mac)

    Oh for crying out!!

    I never NEVER touch those settings. Somehow smooth shaded got selected. 

    I'm thinking it was a slip of the mouse or keyboard.

    I'm mortified but thankful as well.
