Marvellous Designer compatibility with Daz? Any advice appreciated :)

Hi folks,

I've just got back into rendering after a considerable absence (LOVING Iray by the way!) and some of the things I've got coming up will require some pretty specific clothing - I don't mind doing a great deal of modeling and texturing myself, and the vendors here are always a great go-to for clothes that work in many situations but I've just come across Marvellous Designer.

Has anybody had any experience with using this? Is it possible to use it with V4/M4/Genesis 2 bases and render the resulting created clothing in Daz?Also is it any good for adding realistic draping with an existing clothing item around a figure pose and then being able to return the figure, with the draped clothing, back into Daz for a render? Is this a straight export of posed figure .obj into Marvellous designer then a re-import of the appropriate clothing .obj back? I'm not looking to do any animation, just static pictures.

Seriously, any advice is appreciated :)

Thank you.

A friend of mine uses it, and from what she's told me, it's like you say: export your figure from Studio to MD, create/drape clothing on it, export clothing as OBJ to Studio.

It's super easy to use with Daz Studio. Just export from Daz, import into MD, be sure to click "Daz Studio" on the scaling.

Then do the opposite, export an obj out of MD (be sure to click "Daz Studio" in the scaling options), then import that obj into DS.
