You can download it from your Product Library here: https://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/files#prod_16280
    or with DAZ Install Manager.

Genesis 2 female figure is part of Genesis 2 Starter Essentials.

According to the product page, Genesis 2 Starter Essentials is included free with Daz Studio 4.6. I just checked and that is the version that I downloaded already, a little over a year ago, but i didn't get the the Genesis 2 Starter Essentials. I did get a Genesis Starter Essentials but it had no "2", and the model is very limited, so i am assuming I need Genesis 2 to do more. Can I get Genesis 2 now for free or do I have to pay for it?

If you have DAZ Studio 4.6 in your Product Library, you should also have Genesis 2 Starter Essentials.

It is a free bundle, and does not appear in the Store. The easiest way may be to 'Buy' (for free) the latest version of DAZ Studio in the store, and just install the G2 Starter Essentials from it.

If you search for DAZ Studio in your Product Library you should see

This product is a bundle that contains the following products...

And Genesis 2 Starter Essentials is below that.

When I purchased Hexagon and Daz 3d in 9/2013 I got Genesis Starter Essentials but at that time, apparently, Genesis 2 Starter Essentials was not available with that package.

So, I have to repurchase Daz 3d Studio, along with Genesis 2 Starter Essentials. Do I have to reinstall Daz 3d Studio 4.6 or just Genesis 2 Starter Essentials?

Having thought about this, the best way may be to contact support using the 'Contact Us' button at the bottom of the forum, unless you are going to upgrade to DS4.8. They will be able to make the correct version of Essentials available for you version of DS.

There are sometimes changes made to the Essentials packages to suit the latest release version, and downloading the one that comes with DS4.8 may not work as expected in DS4.6.

Did you do a Product Library search for Starter Essentials? I thought everybody got the Starter Essentials 2 package when they first released Genesis 2?

Yes, it should be in your product library, you don't need to repurchase DS.

Okay, it wasn't included in the package at the time i downloaded Daz Studio 4.6 in 9/2013 and I got completely side-tracked by my work and never got any upgrades after that.

I hope JimmyC_2009 is wrong about the version issue, because i already made the downloads and I'm ready to try the installation.

    Thanx for the help.

The downloads will be the latest version. There may be features of the Genesis 2 models that don't work in your version of DS.

Well, i got the package installed ok and the new model seems to be working fine. I'm gonna go ahead and try it out and just hope i don't run into any problems.

Next step is to try the job interview clothes on the new model.

I must be missing something again. According to the pictures on the product page for Job Interview the dress includes a plain white texture, which i was assuming could be color-adjusted. But all i got from the download was the gray texture alone and nothing else.

What is the white dress in the picture on the product page, if not another texture format? I don't understand. I thought I was getting more than just the single gray texture. I like the dress but the gray is just a bit too formal and i was hoping to make another color out of it.

The white image is what we call a "clay render" It shows you what the dress looks like without a texture on it.

Well, I guess i won't make that mistake again. Unfortunately, the gray texture might not be the best for scene required. :( Hmm... Daz Studio apparently lacks the option of different textures and colors for clothes... something that can be done in Poser 8. If I imported to Poser could i change the color and/or textures?

I guess I'll do some more shopping. At least now I know the Genesis 2 model will work ok.

    Thanks again.

Of course you can change textures or colours in DAZ Studio.

You do that through the Surfaces pane, and there are templates where you can create your own textures from scratch. You can load the textures for the model into Photoshop or Gimp and change the colours there, then reload them.

You can remove the texture image files, and use the Diffuse colour channel to change the colour of the whole image, or apply shaders to parts of it.

Genesis will not work at all in Poser 8 because of the weight mapping. You need at least Poser 9 with Service Release 3 to properly use Genesis in Poser. Poser 10 and PoserPro 2014 will also handle it, so I think will PoserPro 2012 if you have that. If not, there's a half price sale on Poser now, should you be considering an upgrade.

There is a Texture set for the dress, which you can purchase in order to have alternative colour/style http://www.daz3d.com/hr-for-job-interview

Hmm... yes, well I guess I'm a little slow in making all the upgrades every year for every program I need for my work. That is one of the minor technicalities that my purse hasn't quite become accustomed to. :(

That is also still an option.
