Daz won't use more than 2gb of my video card?

Windows 10, I have a 3080 - nothing else significant is running or in the background.

What setting am I missing? It feels like more memory could be used due to slow iteration/render speed... yet it's not being used.

    You are most likely running out of VRAM. How are you measuring the amount of used VRAM?

    do you have a 2g scene or a 10g scene? 
    I don't think it stacks the same stuff into empty vram 
    The gpus run to process what's in the memory .
    ----
    when I pushed a big scene at my card it would use more than if I pushed a small scene at it.
