Well this went in the basket instantly!

Could we have a Daz Brandenburg Gate? asking for a friend.

It looks really good. Are there any lifts or stairwells to go exploring the tower with? I don't see a restaurant so this is probably best suited for an iconic static scene prop.

I bought this, installed and can't find it anywhere.  I uninstalled, reinstalled, no luck.  I've refreshed all the directories. I've checked the READ ME page, double chcked the File List.  I see tons of other stuff in \POLISH.

Anyone else have any issues?  If so I will p[ut in a ticket.  If it is just me, I guess I'll try turning it off and back on again, but I have A LOT going on so not a trivial reboot for me.

Installed with DIM and looking in Content Library.

Presumably, then, the actual model goes straight up? The perspective shown in the sample renders is a bit more, er, Pisa-esque.

I only took a glance at it and the very limited angles used for the promo pictures (and the Tower of Pisa likeness of it's positioning) didn't show any stairway, elevator or whatnots to use it as anything else than a static prop, which doesn't tempt me a bit to buy it.

The distortion is camera perspective distortion its full scale so most will scale it down for background use

Its not finely detailed and is really speaking only of use as a background prop but for my uses thats perfect and is better than the one one the other store.

It would also be very interesting with rust and wear/decay for age abd apocolyptic images.

Did you try going into All Files and typing Eiffel Tower into the search box? When I can't find something, that's what I try and it usually turns up. Sometimes they're hiding in weird places.

Installed with DIM and looking in Content Library.

The readme for the products says, it's to be found at "Environments:Architecture:Polish:The Eiffel Tower:00 Scene and sets", as does the file list in the Documentation Center.

So if you don't find it there, you might check the .zip file that got downloaded by DIM (unless you install without having DIM storing the .zip after installation).

No stairs? I thought the modern one was updated to have a set of elevators too. Not sure, as we just got close enough to see it but didn't actually visit it, LOL.

I did the search as melanie suggested (usually a bust for me - maybe too many items in my library?) and found it.  I did the things you mentioned, maikdecker, as I always do on my own, but no dice. The files showed up here:  "Environments:Architecture:Daz Originals:The Eiffel Tower"  so I am guessing some sort of mistake in the DIM installation file. I don't use Smart Content - didn't even think ot check there as it also usually is less helpful than just manually searching through the 'Content Library' tab.

In any case, thanks to everyone who replied trying to help out!

There are indeed elevators as well as stairs in the real Eiffel tower. Elevators were not added later, there were already elevators when the tower was first opened to the public (though the original ones have been replaced by more modern ones since then).

And we shouldn't forget the Eiffel Tower Apartment and the restaurants... and of course the secret steampunk rocket, which was installed in the apartment area by Nikola Tesla, Thomas Eddison and Gustave Eiffel, when they founded the Plus Ultra Society together with Jules Verne.

I just found that it is no longer named 'The Eiffel Tower' SKU 85819, but has been renamed 'Paris City Center'. I only found that out because I had 'The Eiffel Tower' with empty thumbnails.

I looked it up by way of the bundle, then found the newly named file already installed in my DIM with files installed. But it is not showing up in my Content Library, nor Smart Content.

So, you may have to uninstall in DIM, then reinstall the renamed file. That worked to get it into my Smart Content.

Do you work with Daz Studio online? If not the metadata wouldn't update unless you did a reinstall, and if you install through DIM you don't need to be online.

I have some shadersets that would give it that look

KA Metalworx, DD PBR Metal Shaders for Iray, and Corroded Metals have options for it

The Eiffel Tower is a registered trademark, so it might have been renamed to avoid legal issues.

Hi Richard, no I keep D|S is kept offline after the absolute mess the online updates made of my files. I am still in the process of reinstalling files on two Win 10 computers, one due to mixed DIM/Daz Connect, the other due to when an external hard drive loss connection. Installing new files on MacBookPro M1.

I have noticed that on DIM, when opening it, that a large number of .dsx files appear along with any updated and new products. I have wondered why it takes so long for DIM to open, and it seems that may be what is happening. Are those necessary to replace the existing .dsx files in DIM's Download's folder?

(I happend to have File Manager open after recovery of my 8Tb external hard drive for my MBP M1 when an unexpected lightning strike hit near my home and blew out our electricity. Took some time to recover, then started re-installing, and downloading the files I had been working on in DIM, so I was watching item by item as I worked. The MBP M1 is 'sensitive' and doesn't like DIM & D|S, so I have to do it one item at a time, and be very careful to not crash either program.)

The .dsx fils alongside the zips just describe them and can be used, in the absence of a zip, to tell when the product has been updated (which is one way to save space). The database won't be updated without installing a new version if DS is offline, as far as I know.

I don't know if you know about this, but saving/leaving the downloaded product zips in the content folder significantly increases DIM's opening time. I moved all of the zips out of My Daz 3D Library folder into a folder I called My Daz 3D Library Backup. After doing so, DIM opened lightning fast.

Thank you, I need to do that on both computers with .zip files saved. I am struggling to get a simple download to be successful. I will do this, as I have split my back-up DIM and D|S files are on two separate external 4 and 5 Tb hard drives. The main files are on the 8Tb external hard drive. It just took 15 hours to copy 'My Daz 3D Library' yesterday.
