Shader Issue

I am using DAZ 4.8 Pro. Recently I tried to apply one of the shaders from the Genesis Supersuit to the basic supersuit. None of the shaders will apply. I tried applying them to a basic cube as well, and none of them will apply. Did DAZ change something, or is it just a problem with my program? Is anyone else having this problem?

Are both the item you are wanting to apply the preset to and the surface you want both selected, The item, selected in the scene tab/pane and the specific surface in the Surfaces tab/pane?

Yes, first I selected part of the suit with the selection tool. When that didn't work, I selected the suit in the surfaces tab. nothing happed either time.

The other thing that has to be correct for the copy and paste to work is both items need to have the same base shader. Copy and paste only does the settings, it won't apply the base.

So if the Genesis suit says omUberSurface and the basic suit says DSDefault...then you need to apply the UberSurface base, first.

I'm trying to apply shaders that came with the supersuit bundle. I never had a problem until yesterday after I made a purchase from the store and downloaded it with DIM. There was an update for DAZStudio, which I stupidly ran, and now 4.8 Pro has access to IRay, and I'm having problems with shaders which I never had before. How do I tell what the base shader is?

Go to the Render Settings tab/pane and switch to 3Delight under Engine.

I tried that too, and I still can't add a shader.

What are your steps for adding the shader perset?

I click on the basic suit (the shoulder or arm) with the selection tool, then I right click on the shader. this is the way I've always done it and I've never had a problem before. But since I ran the update (I'm pretty sure I was still using DAZ 4.7 - now it's 4.8) I'm having a problem.

Which selection tool - the Surface Selection tool? Right-click on the shader and...?

Yes the surface selection tool. Then I double-click the shader and nothing happens.

I don't know if this is related but I've seen a similar issue with Iray shaders in 4.8. A few times now I've applied one of the Iray shaders supplied and then gone to change it to a different one and it hasn't applied, So maybe there's a bug in 4.8?
