Stop code unexpected kernel mode trap

DAZ Studio keeps throwing me out with the Blue Screen of Death when I'm in DAZ Studio. It's giving me this error message, "stop code unexpected kernel mode trap." Someone here in DAZ World must know what this means. This has been happening for about a week now and it happens only when I'm in DAZ Studio. I don't get it in any other applications. I looked it up on the internet, but they recommend downloading software to fix it. I never download software from the internet, because I don't know if I can trust it. Anyone have any recommendations?

    AND

Disclaimer: I'm not a computer repair professional, just someone on the internet :)

I think we went to the same website: https://windowsreport.com/unexpected_kernel_mode_trap-windows-10/

Beyond the "download this" (which I am not a fan of), there is some good advice further down in that article.  The ones I (personally) would check first are below, beyond that the article has other suggestions that do not involve downloading software..

    - Is your RAM ok? (does the amount installed roughly match what it says in system?)

    - Any chance you picked up some malware? Run a scan.

    - How old are your video card drivers? And for that mater are you workin on a really old version of DAZ?  Check the version numbers vs those stated as latest on their respective sites.

Hope that helps and good luck.

What I just read seems to say that you need to update your drivers, probably video card drivers. You don't say your windows version, your CPU (the search says it's Intel), your RAM amount, or your video card type.

Have you recently installed drivers for some non-typical HW you installed? Or updated drivers manually? Use the rollback feature of Windows.

If you ain't downloading the drivers direct from Microsoft or the manufacturerer of your HW then you don't need to be downloading it from anywhere else.

I have the most current NVIDIA GeForce driver, which I downloaded from the NVIDIA website only a few days ago. I've reinstalled it more than once, in fact, because DAZ Studio told me more than once that I had the wrong version, so I know I have the right version for that. When that didn't change anything, I took the plunge and updated DAZ Studio to verson 4.20. I haven't updated Windows to 11 yet. I'm on the verge of trying that to see if it makes a difference. I just bought this computer new last November, so it's not an ancient machine. And this problem only started happening about a week ago, so it hasn't been long. I can render one simple portrait in DS, but if I try to render more than one, it throws me out and gives me the BSOD. So, I'm totally at a loss as to why it has started doing this, when it was running perfectly up until a week ago. My sister was having the same problem with her computer, so we were wondering if there was something we may have bought from the DAZ store that we installed through DIM that could have caused something to go haywire, since both of our computers started being flaky around the same time. This is a mystery.
