Possible to add material preset button to toolbar OR lock a surface material?

I will often quickly go through a lot of material sets to see how they look on a model.  I typically click the All Mats option which replaces everything but a lot of times I will want to commit a material to a certain body part like the eyes while continuing to quickly load through material sets.  I read that you can hold CTL while clicking on a material preset which will allow you to choose which parts to apply to, but I am trying to figure out a faster way given how many I go through for testing.  Are either of [add material preset button to toolbar OR lock a surface material] these two things possible? Thanks for any help!

You can quikly add a preset to the Scripts (or Favourites) menu via right-click on it>Create Custom Action. If you want to add it to a toolbar you then need Window>Workspace>Customise, and drag it from the Custom Actions list on the left to the desired location in the Toolbars tab on the right.

  • Perfect thanks!!
