Need help and or the right way....

So I'm having trouble with different floors and levels in a scene. I have the MMA Arena, the thing is the characters don't stand on the mat, they go to the ground floor which is great except the mat starts about knee to waist so half my characters are under the octagon, I have searched and I have found nothing on multiple planes or levels in a scene. Nothing I've tried has worked. That said I've gotta say this isn't my first artistic program, but besides unity, blender and unreal 4 and 5, very little in all three before that adobe creative studios 4. So any help and please use small words lol

The easiest way would be to lower the environment so that the mat is at groud level.

Just y-translate the figures/props until their feet are on the floor - this may be easier using side or front/back view, or creating a new plane primitive (Cretae>New Primitive), translating it up until it just breaks the floor, and then copying its transforms to apply to the figures - if you aply this to the figure node, then poses should not touch it (any placement adjustment they make should be done through the hip). You can save a Pose Preset (File>Save As>Pose Preset) after setting one figure up and in the options dialogue include only the figure node, and only its Y translation - then you can apply that to any other figures you add.

That would cut out the stairs leading up to the mat as well as audience as these would then underground, unless I'm wrong about that? Idk if these things matter when sending to unity or blender for the animation or rigging
