I've downloaded the 32 bit version of 4.8 and am wondering if the 4.7 content will transfer seamlessly into 4.8?

it probably should however I thought I would check in order to prevent any surprises....I have alot of content and I really do not want to have to reinstall any of it.

thanx

My impression that is if you haven't been fiddling around with where your content lives, everything goes just fine. It did for me, but I still made a good backup before hand.

I did not have to reinstall any content when I upgraded.

No transfer needed — every bit of content stays in exactly the same place, and 4.8 should pick up the same where-are-the-content-files settings that 4.7 used. The main thing to watch out for when upgrading is your plugins; the ones that are included in the D|S installer will be updated with the program, so you don't need to worry about them. Extra plugins that you've bought might or might not need updating; if you update automatically using DIM, watch out for your plugins appearing in the "ready to download" list. Note that some plugins must be updated at the same time as the program, to match the last two numbers of the program version number. The most common of this type is the Dynamic Clothing Control, but there are others.

Nearly forgot — the extra free content has been changed quite a bit, so don't forget to download and install all of them as well; the Genesis and Genesis2 Starter Essentials, the Default Lights and Shaders, and the Subsurface Shaders. If you use Smart Content and/or Categories, you'll also have to decide whether to switch from the old ValentinaCMS database to the new (and apparently more reliable) PostgreSQL database; there's another installer to be downloaded for that.
