Moving my scenes and assets from one computer to another computer (Win 10). My new laptop also has Daz studio installed and there are already some installed files and scenes in "my library".

One way to do this I can think of is direct copy and paste all content in "my library" to my new computer. Has anyone tried this before? Does it work out so easily? Will the links from scenes to the things like textures and morphs break up in my new computer when I do so? Does it matter if my new computer has a different user name?

(Before I give it a try myself I should ask first, otherwise it would be hard to recover if I get too many errors like mising file links....)

For privacy and security reasons I would rather not connect to internet when I work on Daz studio. However, if offline migration is too complicated, how do I do a cloud migration, like sync across different devices through Daz (like the way of Dropbox or Microsoft OneDrive etc).

  • I just built a new computer and manually transfered everything over to it.

I just copied the library folder from one computer to the other.

You might also want to copy over the manifiest files if you're Daz Install Manager so it knows what currently is installed

    C:\Users\Public\Documents\DAZ 3D\InstallManager\Manifestfiles
