Using Gereration 4 and Generation 5 Characters In DAZ Studio 4.20

Hello everyone

Can anyone help me with this please?  I have a large number of Generation 4 and Generation 5  characters which I made about ten years ago.

The question I am asking is can Generation 4 and Generation 5 characters be used in DAZ Studio 4.20, please?

These are characters for a graphic novel, which is a Work In Progress.

All help is appreciated.

Yes. Gen4 and Gen5 (Genesis) are still supported in DS. Have you tried using them and encountered some sort of problem?

I used V4 and M4 all of the time.

You might have some issues if these characters were made in Poser however.

Loading them with magnets and morphs from Poser can cause this but what I would do, personally, is start remaking your characters with a newer model (Genesis 2 or 3) since you can use most of the clothing near perfectly by using clothing conversion add-ons.

Shoes usually don't work so great but sometimes you get lucky and they come out good.

Thanks for that.  I made my characters in DAZ Studio 4.01, I think.  It might have been Studio 3.1.  I've forgotten the version, as it was 9-10 years ago.

I'm thinking along the lines of possibly remaking them to fit Genesis 8, so I can use the extended wardrobe and poses.  Still working on this, still puzzling what I'm going to do.

Not yet.  I've loaded a trial Genesis character (Wednesday for A4 and A5), which seemed to work well enough.

I'm still trialling and still experimenting.  Thanks for your answer.
