Iray Matte Shadow Inconsistency

Hello. I'm trying to render a garment of clothing on a model, as well as its shadows. See the first two images of a man, and his pants.

However, when you overlay these two images, a fine transparent line is present between the shadow of the man and the shadow of his pants. The shadows don't meet perfectly, although they should be.

Any ideas? I'ved tried push modifiers on the pants and manually adjusting the ground's Y.

Relevant settings:

Nvidia IRAY

single Distant Light

Perspective is turned off on the camera

"Enable Iray Matte" is enabled, just on the man

Ennviroment is 'Scene Only', Draw Ground is 'On', Ground Shadow Intensity is .6 (changing Ground Shadow Intensity didn't help either)

Please give the man some briefs.

I don't know why that is happening, my suspicion would be it is related to anti-aliasing or to the PixelFilter (blurring thebimage slightly and so blending some plaeness into the edges of the shadow)

I can re-create the "shadow gap" on everything from Pixel Filter: Box at a Pixel filter Radius of 16, to Pixel Filter: Lanczos to Pixel Filter Radius completely at 0; so I think that rules that out. I'll play around with some other Iray settings. I've also tried various settings for Ground Glossiness and Ground Reflectivity (originally thinking that maybe the ground had some sort of laterally-moving glow effect) but that didn't do anything.

Alternatively, a way to blur ground shadows enough so that line isn't so definitive...
