dForce Gentleman Suit for G8M

Looks like we have a new suit product for G8M.  dForce Gentleman Suit for Genesis 8 and 8.1 Males.  Very impressive from what I can see.  The publishing artist doesn't have any other products; it's a great first product out of the gate.  Draping looks good (some suits with dForce look badly constructed...mens suits are supposed to be tailored to the body).  The pinstripe textures are off, however.  Pinstripe lapels go vertical, not horizontal.

One thing I noticed, however, is there aren't any morphs listed in the product page.  Without them, I'm wondering how you get the 'hands in pockets' pose?

Other than that, I am looking forward to seeing what this new artist has to create!

    Yes, it looks nice.

But looking in both description and file list, you seems to be able to only load it as a whole outfit, which is disappointing to me. Not that I can't with some work save them as individual pieces, but that should, in my view, be done by the PA.

Would be okay for the jacket. No gentleman is supposed to use the jacket's pockets, but fatal for pants.

The lack of morphs is what makes many clothes - especially male clothes - here in DAZland go "looks nice, but I can't use it..", right to my favourite "humanity is lucky that this PA didn't go into professional cloth design". This product at least only falls into the first category, as the looks are really nice...

The "hand in the pocket" in the main promo just looks like the hand mesh is stuck through the pants mesh. I can't see any pocket fabric.

There are some figure morphs in the file list, and one to make the collar go up or down I guess, but I'm not seeing much else. Especially no hand-in-pocket morph. Quite disappointing.

Going by this image, I'm not even sure it has trouser pockets other than a bit of normal mapping.   That said, it's pretty well faked in the promos.  Other than that, it looks pretty nice.

I noticed the pin stripes myself, but I have a shader set by Canary3d for Classic Suits and it comes in 3DL and Iray shaders. There are also others, like FSL Serious Business which is Iray.

These could help the texture issue. Or select a silk one for lapels, or brocade... Change the leather. Have fun with your shader library.

Thank you for those links memcneil. I had no idea those products existed and can get a lot of use out of those.

Personally I love the suit but understand the issues. I think I'll just load the textures in Photoshop and correct. It's beautifully designed IMO. Can't wait to see what this PA comes up with in the future.

It is in my cart, but are you saying you can't load only the pants, or only the shirt, etc?

The product page says "each piece can be combined freely".

It loads basically as a Wearable Preset but as barbult said, each piece can be used separately from one another. I ended up making individual clothing assets so I can load each piece if I want. A little annoying, but I do this often anyway.

Ultra Shaders: Business Class Fabric Shaders is also a wonderful shader set!

I ended up buying the suit.  The entire collection only has one material zone per clothing piece.  The lapel in the jacket is fixable, but the way the UV is laid out, the sleeves go horizonal rather than vertical.  So in order to get the proper look for a pinstripe suit, you'll have to create an entirely different material zone.

And like @Sevrin pointed out, there are no pockets (front or back) on the pants.  It's all normal maps.

All in all, nice suit product (can never have too many of them!); it just needs a little fine tuning to be 'next-level' amazing.

Oh, meaning you load everything, then delete each item you don't want the character to wear. I can live with that, but would prefer them separate as well. Thank you. It does look really nice. We can never get enough male content!

Yeah, a very small part of me wants to nit-pick about the lack of separate clothing loading options. But it does load fast compared to some other Wearable Presets and really I can't see myself kitbashing this with anything else, but I did go ahead and save out the product as separate items. I only quickly tested it but I love how it looks in the viewport. And yeah, this is definitely a nice addition to the male wardrobe. Between this product and IH Kang's store sale and new releases, I spent way too much money. More clothes for my dollies. ;-)

I knew I was missing one, that team of PAs do a great job! I have had a couple of rough days and my brain just wasn't firing on all cylinders. I am glad you posted them.

Off the top of my head, I am sure I have seen tutorials, either sold or ones posted in the forums about creating your own material zones in the case we have right now. Pretty sure one is in Novica's thread. Might be a good reason to buy the outfit and force yourself to learn the process, if you don't already know it by heart.

I'm always looking for new male clothing.  It would be nice, though, if you could put each individual piece on instead of having to delete the parts you don't want.

I like to convert clothing from male to female, so the 'load all' being the only option is distracting. As well, looking at the files it seems there are no induvidual assets for the clothing items.

    Otherwise, nice.
