Genesis 2 morphs not working in Daz 4.8

edited June 2015 in Daz Studio Discussion

Hello all,

The following Genesis 2 morphs are shoing in the smart content panel, and in my library but have no effect on the model:

Awesome creature creator.
Aging morphs (male and female)
Female and male body morphs.

The teen morph works just fine.

I"ve been through the DIM uninstall/install, and they still don't work.

Any ideas?

First, Smart Content is stupid and will show content whether it is installed properly (so Studio knows where it is) or not. Second, I assume DDM is DIM (DAZ Install Manager) but what is DDCM?

Never heard of Daz Download Content Manager. There CMS which is Content Management Service, there is the old Valentino (? at least I think that is the name) and the new PostSql (? at least I think that is the name). Than there is the Content Directory Manager in Studio that to the best of my knowledge is never abbreviated to just letters.

I trawled the forums for answers first, but some of the replies where quite old -- so maybe I picked up old stuff. Any idea on the morphs?

This is a link to the webpage explaining about the DDCM.

Is this still relevant or has it been replaced?

That link is about CMS which handles the database for Smart Content. Morphs not being available is most likely do to not being installed to a content library that Studio knows. In DIM right click on the morph installer to display a file list which will show what was installed and where. The path at the top of the file list must be known in Studio' Content Directory Manager for the content to work.

OK, checking now. Thank you. I'll get back to you.

The path for one of the missing morphs is as follows:

    C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library

    C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 2\Female\Morphs\Zev0\Aging Morphs2

    This seams to be correct?

It doesn't appear in my content library, but does my smart pane.

throughout I have kept the DIM settings; however, a few days ago I tried to migrate to my E drive, failed, reinstalled on my C drive 9after a clean up), failed. Revo Unistalled and CCleaned the registry and then reinstalled on my c. Everything appears to work bar these (very important) morphs. :-)

Is My DAZ 3D Library listed in the Content Library pane under DAZ Studio Formats?

  • edited June 2015

The folder is there, but it's empty.

Richard, it is in fact linked to a directory of extras on my E drive -- maybe a legacy of the old install. How do I change this path, and where to (standard install).

Edit--> Preferences --> Content Management --> Content Directories (I think)

    Here's a howto with pictures:

Lee and Richard: you are both amazing. Despite me being 40 and married, I was almost sick on the floor, with excitement, when everything worked.

A huge thank you to you both.

    Yours aye,

    Russ(ell)
