DAZ Studio DIM Update Problem

I'm using a Mac.

When I open DIM it is version 1.1.0.28. I get a message that there is an update. I download and install the update and the version becomes 1.1.0.41.

After closing DIM and opening later, the version has reverted to 1.1.0.28, and I get a message an update is available.

How do I fix this?

Have you moved DIM to another location than /Applications/DAZ 3D/DAZ3DIM1 and is using an alias in the dock to start it?
If you go to /Applications/DAZ 3D/DAZ3DIM1 and start DIM there, is that the right or wrong version?

Also, do you install the DIM update from an account that has "admin rights", i.e. is allowed to sudo (install things)?

I haven't modified the installation at all. I updated DIM with the admin account.

    /Applications/DAZ 3D/DAZ3DIM1 opens version 1.1.0.28.

Did you try again? This can probably happen if you enter the wrong password in the Authentication Dialog while updating DIM.

I've downloaded the update a dozen times with no luck, every time I go to download a new purchase.

Are you donwloading manually from the website or are you letting DIM update itself?

    I had the same problem.
    Workaround:
Locate 3DIM with spotlight search and start the program from the search result.
    Update from within 3DIM.
After update I had the 3DIM icon in the Programs/DAZ3D directory showing a 0 byte program (for whatever reason...) but I´m still able to open the updated version from the spotlight search results and lived with this :-)

Which version of OS X are you running? I updated to 1.1.0.41 with no hassles on any of my three machines running 10.10.3.

I found that launchpad shows 1 icon that launches 1.1.0.28.

Finder shows 2 icons, same name and location. One launches 1.1.0.28, the other 1.1.0.41.

I'm guessing the issue is with the update I installed with DIM?

    I'm using OS 10.10.3

It must be something else involved.
I just updated DIM on a machine I don't dun DS on anymore, it had been updated from 10.9 to 10.10.3 and had DIM 1.0.1.115 installed, the update went flawless, the old one was removed and replaced with the new one.

Any of you who have these problems, do you have any additional security applications installed that might prevent self-update (I know that this is tricky, I've written a few, so from 10.9 it became even tricker).

Just to be able to move "yourself" away (moving or renaming) can be prevented by many different security mechanisms thinking it's a virus or malware behavior.
