help? Where is Daz Studio 4.9??

My DIM only shows Daz Studio 4.20  I haven't used the software in years so I am very confused because everything is tagged 4.5+ and I have no idea where to get it?

4.9 is an old version, and Daz doesn't make those available as a matter of course. You can still install and use it if you happen to still have an installer. Is there a particular reason you need 4.9?

Your version is four point twenty... Twenty is bigger number than five or nine.

Oh ok. I feel stupid. For whatever reason I saw it as 4.2 vs 4.9.  Not as 4.20!  I'm a numpty lol. Thank you for clarifying.  :)

You probably read the version number as a single decimal number, while it's actuall 2 different numbers separated by a dot: major version number (4) and minor version number (20).

A lot of people made the same mistake, if that can comfort you ;)

No need to feel stupid. Normally after 4.9 follows 5.0., otherwise it should be written 4.09.

Strictly therea re four numbers eparated by full-stops - 4.20.0.17 for the current general release, for example.

    This way it makes sense.

Depends what you mean by normal.

When talking about normal in relation to software versions, then that is NOT normal - merely coincidence.

  • not surprising since I remember having to re-number a set of 12 hdrs to 01,02 etc in order to keep 11 and 12 from coming up in front of the daz listing.
    and of course we went from V1 2 3 V4 to G then G2, G3 and then G8 and now G8.1

That is up to the PA who made the set

Well, Genesis was a separate series using a separate system so they restarted the numbering fro that, and then having the Victoria etc. numbers not match the Genesis number was confusing so they rebased.

In any event, the version numbering system for Daz Studio is pretty normal (even the lack of leading zeroes), not something that needs comment.
