Can Daz handle wardrobe when sitting?
Hi,
I've just started with Daz, done a few tutorials and a short course.
I'm going to use Daz to pose figures that I will later draw so Daz for me is a figure drawing tool.
I'm particularly interested in getting figures to sit with their clothes draping realistically over furniture.
I've been experimenting with wardrobe that uses dForce. In particular the Eveline outfit for Genisis 8.1
However, if I start the simulation with the figure too close to the furniture (in my test case a chaise longue) then the simulation blows up and I get a dForce Explosion.
If I pose the figure but move the chaise longue out of the way then the Eveline dress now falls to the flow and does not drape over the chaise longue.
I can't find useful help on this in the usual places, YouTube, forums etc.
What is the process for successfully getting a figure and their dress to drape correctly over furniture?

Good day,
With Dforce ... it is a bit of a hit or miss with more complex movements like sitting. Things to keep in mind:
) some vendors make better products than others - some dforce better than others
) some outfits are made specifically with morphs for sitting and will help get a good starting position for simulation [by memory, I think the morphing fantasy dress and it's set of add-ons and textures worked well ... but maybe that was a previous generation ???]
) during simulation, make sure poses and props do not overlap or conflict ... however, you should be able to move that chaise lounge in place
) there are many suggestions on how to work simulation ... the one I will mention here is give it plenty of time on the timeline ... rushing things is a good way to get explosions.
You need to do an animated simulation using the timeline. esha has a good YouTube video tutorial. I have linked the part about sitting poses, but a beginner can benefit from the entire tutorial.
That esha video is excellent. I'll spend time using her advice and see what I get.
