from daz perspective , is the intel to prefer because of better single core performance?
or is amds multi-core a plus for the viewport?
i want a fast peforming viewport :)

At the moment, Daz Studio prefers single threaded performance for the interface (CPU rendering is a different story), but that is supposed to change once Daz Studio 5 is ready for release.
Here is a professional evaluation: https://www.tomshardware.com/features/amd-vs-intel-cpus
I chose AMD earlier this year, and would chose it again. I think the savings in power draw and heat generated (and hence component durability) is worth the sacrifice in performance - Especially since DAZ and gaming rely mostly on the GPU.
...Intel also went to this odd core configuration with their 12th generation CPUs that splits the cores between "Performance" and "Efficiency" The latter are only single threaded so when you look at the total core vs. thread counts and they seem a bit "off" That is why. For example a ten core CPU will have 6 hyperthreading cores and 4 single thread that leaves you with a total thread count of 16 rather than of 20.
I see no advantage in a desktop that is plugged into a wall outlet, though it does sound like it would benefit notebook battery life.
Might be worth mentioning that the 12th gen 12600 non K and below don't use E cores.
A 12400f in a decent b660 board is good value if you just want to keep a GPU busy. It's a 65w part so it's easy to cool, has good single core performance and 6 cores / 12 threads.
I bought one but I've only used it for gaming.
