Copying whole scene poses?

I have a series of pictures all using the same set of props and characters, lights, camera).

I've converted one to iray (shaders, lights). (We'll call it Scene 1)

I was wondering if there's some easy way to transfer the poses from scenes 2 & 3 into scene 1 so I do not have to re shader/light each scene? A save pre-set? Then doing a "Save As"

Or, baring that, transfering the properties in Scene 1 to the other scenes?

(If I could open 2 Daz Viewpoint windows, it'd be pretty simple copy across, but I can't do that (on a Mac)...that I know of).

(Going into scene 2 and doing several pose presets wouldn't be difficult, but these are very simple simples with only 2 figures and 2 props that do any moving...I think the camera may move a little between the 3....so it's kind of academic for much more complicated scenes)

Just open the scene again, change the lighting and/or shaders, and save it again under a different name.

That would be the way I would do it.

    .....

So your suggestion is to redo all the work I already did several times over....which is the very thing I was asking if there was a way not to do?

Are all the lights in exactly the same position in each scene, and the same type etc.? If so, you can save as a Lights Preset and use that, one for Iray and another for 3Delight.

If all of the scenes have different lights in different places, then the only way I can think of is what I suggested.

The lights are the exact same, the camera moves a little, and only the 2 characters and 2 props move.

Like I said in my original post, I could see doing pose presets for the stuff, because there's 5 things to change...but on larger scenes, that would be a major hassle.

Parent everything in the scene to a root (null or group node or any other node really). Save a "Hierarchical Pose" Preset. Put the second scene in the same hierarchy. Apply the saved preset.

This sounds promising..to be sure I understand:

Scene I is the iray converted scene

Scene D is the 3Delight original

I parent everything in Scene D to a group. Save that as the hierachial pose. Then go to Scene I, apply the saved preset. and do a Save As...

I assume I need to ALSO parent everything in Scene I to a group first, too?

Yes you need the same parenting in Scene I and Scene D with groups that have the exact same name.

Great! I'll give that a try. I think I'll try out doing an unparrent of everything (in place) first, just in case there were some parent changes in the props that I don't recall...I'll report back my results.

EDIT: There's not an option for a mass unparenting... Not an issue in this one as it's just the two props, but something to remeber for the future.

EDIT x2: That worked like a charm!!! Thanks for the teaching!
